well, if they are simply to chat about (which I agree), why not spice things up by jumping a 0ne loss Ohio St. team over Cincy?

stir the pot a little
I don't know how seriously the writers take polls, I THINK most of them just write down the "usual suspects" which is why the polls are predictable.

The coaches assign some grad assistant and MIGHT look it over and MIGHT adjust it a bit, I doubt that happens often.  A GA isn't going to shake things up, and it's not even clear whether it's some power poll or just line them up by number of losses and finagle a bit based on optics, I think it's mostly the latter.

I don't think UC would be favored against any other Top Ten team, and in some cases it would be a double digit margin.  Wake Forest is undefeated and ranked outside the Top Ten, in part because of helmet, and in part because they have mediocre wins.

It sounds like OSU will jump Georgia in SP+ this week

This "poll" has UC at 9.  Pitt made a nice move up.  I don't have any special attachment to this "poll" either.

7-0. Smoke and mirror feel because this is an offense with literally no passing game at all.

Michigan will lose next week vs Michigan State. Why? Because JJ McCarthy isn't the starting QB.
Saw this on an M Board

First, I am just pointing out a statistical fact, so don't bother trying to cancel the messenger.
With another very consistent throwing game by JJ (hit on 66% of attempts), his QBR is now 91.9
Yes, he did not get the 20 snaps that would qualify him for ESPN's QB ranking board, but if you look at the current leaders ....  JJ has a better QBR than the nation's top rated passer OSU Freshman CJ Stroud (91.7) who is head and shoulders above any other passer at the moment.
Course, JJ also averages 5.5 yards per carry versus Stroud's pedestrian 0.2 yards per rush.

Maybe he doesn't have enough attempts to qualify on the list?

And this is what burns my ass- they insert JJ into the games all-game long- even when game is still in question vs the other teams 1's - and give him a play here or there- and virtually EVERY GOD DAMN TIME they put him in the game he shows real flashes and does something positive or even amazing- and then they f##ng pull him and don't give him any more reps or even try to work him into a rhythm. It makes me want to pull my f##ng hair out.

Like it actually is MORE impressive to me what he's doing- bc playing QB takes REPS, RHYTHM, AND TIMING. They just roll him off the sideline say hey kid go do something good in one or two plays then we'll put ya back on the bench. It makes no god damn sense. LET HIM F##NG ACTUALLY PLAY.

No he doesn't but our humble Michigan Correspondent Mdot has taken a shine to him & I'm thinking he has a point.Harkening back to the JT Barrett - Jeaux Bureaux discussions on Buckeye Boards during the '16-'17 campaigns

Did something new this morning. Ran a half marathon distance. Did not think that was anything I would ever do.
What was chasing you?

anybody with a set of eyeballs can see my point. it's not hard. JJ just flashes elite talents/skills for a QB. he's clearly a much more talented player than Cade McNamara.

So UM-MSU is a big game coming up.
Is there a less-likely play than the bungled punt-turned game-losing TD from a few years back?  It literally defies belief.

don't get me started on that....my god that was a terrible day.

looks like it might rain. I think that helps Michigan. Our passing game stinks- theirs is actually quite good when they hit the big plays. Rain might neutralize that.

maddening isn't it?Anyhoo,I've always loved this cock up between that state up north's premier programs. And it's gotten real frothy since Hart's big brother comment and MD's pride before the fall comment. Then in 2015 Sparty serving crow to both OSU/Mich on the road with time expiring in both contests - it's must see TV >:(:cool2:
