I'd simply leave Cincy at #2 since Ohio St/Michigan and Georgia/Bama are pending

I think we all misread how Illinois would respond to Fat Bret's rant.

I agree, the polls at this point don't matter, it's just to chat about.  I think if we paired UC with several of the top ten teams behind them on a neutral field most would expect UC to lose.

I think Bama would demolish them, and OSU would boat race them.

well, if they are simply to chat about (which I agree), why not spice things up by jumping a 0ne loss Ohio St. team over Cincy?

stir the pot a little

Because any voter who does that "just to spice things up" should have their voting right taken away.

any voter that really feels that Cincy is the #2 team in the nation should have their voting right taken away

wouldn't count the chickens before they hatch yet in regards to M/OSU.

Michigan will have to get through a tough road game next week vs a tough team in Michigan State before I'm ready to even remotely think about them having a sliver of a hope in the East. And quite frankly- with the way McNamara routinely misses passes that travel further in the air than 15 yards- not loving Michigan's chances here in East Lansing. Sell out to shut down the run and force McNamara to beat you- and he can't.

And while I fully expect Ohio State to blow the doors off Penn State- the game is in Happy Valley at night. Which I would argue is maybe the toughest night venue in all of college football. It's going to be a really tough environment for a young QB making really his first true road test. Does anybody really think @Rutgers or @Indiana are tough road tests? And not to mention- Penn State is reeling off a couple of really bad close losses back to back. They are a wounded, desperate team and Franklin might be playing to save his job.

Game is in Columbus.  And I would argue that the first game of the year on the road, at night in Minnesota was the first tough road game away and last night was the second.

oh shit...I was thinking it was in Happy Valley for some reason.

Basically disregard almost everything I said.

Yeah, Ohio State going to murder them.

also:

how'd you guys get such an easy schedule? you avoided Wisconsin and Iowa and you got everyone at home except for Michigan- which let's face it- is like an auto just roll out of bed and show up and it's a W for Ohio State.

Lol

I think your overall point is still quite valid. First of all I expect a knock down drag out affair between Ohio State and Penn State. I expect the same with Michigan and Michigan State as well as Ohio State, Michigan State and finally “the game”.

Weather, injuries, all kinds of things come into play and if we’ve not learned anything is that in conference games tend to be great equalizer’s.

very true. In-conference games are always closer- even Bama has tough games in conference (see Florida) that normally they would spank. they all just know each other a lot better in-conference.

except for Ohio State-Michigan game. let's be honest here- in the last 10 years Michigan has won once (2011) and that one has not been close in any of the other games with the exception of 2012 and 2016. And unless Michigan can magically find a passing game- don't think it will be close either in 2021.
