Some players echoing fans disappointment over getting jumped, but plenty of time to refocus, and MD loves to have a new reason for a chip.

Have to get it turned around quickly, because this joins the Alamo Bowl and the Citrus Bowl as being the three bowls outside the NY6 to feature a pair of Top 20 teams.

Should really test this defense too, as this is the type of offense which has consistently confounded MSU's defense since MD has gotten there, teams that spread you out to throw it.

Will be interested to see how many MSU fans show up.  I've talked to atl east three that planned on following MSU to their bowl, that now can't swing it with a midweek game that requires taking additional vacation days versus a NYD game.

outside of the CFP and the OSU-USC, this might be the game I am most interested in watching.

Dantonio vs The Pirate. Should be a great game.

Started heating up again.  I don't think it goes anywhere, but you never know.

Very intriguing matchup. Huge test for the MSU defense, but they should be able to put some points up themselves.

I think the Tennessee A.D. got told to cease discussions and come home.  And then he got fired.

Yeah, I think that's the important distinction.  I don't think he ever actually turned them down.

WSU opens as a 4.5 point favorite, but it's down to 3 within five minnutes

Leach led teams have had an interesting bowl game history.   They've torched some teams, had some wild comebacks, and then have had a few sputtering outings.   I guess most coaches who end up coaching a lot of bowl games have similar marks.
IIRC, his last bowl game at TT, he wasn't the coach anymore, a win over Mich State.

Correct, that was when MSU paid the price for MD making the wrong decision and letting Winston back on the team.  I think MSU had like 15 guys suspended for that game.  Upside was that it was the beginning of Keith Nichol moving permanently to WR, where he was pretty good.  Caught the winning hail mary against Wisconsin a couple years later.
I think MSU kicked a FG to go up, and led with like 5 minutes left, but Raiders scored a pair of touchdowns late to win it.
At the time it was the highest tv rating ESPN had ever gotten for a bowl game (remembering back then the BCS games were on ABC, not ESPN)
