I wear New Balance because they work the best for me as running shoes.

I had no idea they were the official "dad shoes" until my wife told me a couple of years ago.  So now I'm not allowed to wear them, except when I'm actually running.

Give her an ultimatum.

Dad shoes or dad bod.

No more dad shoes, no more running.

Well if Mom jeans and mom shorts are back in, then there should be no issue wearing dad shoes.

I mean, it's not like I'm wearing loafers with tall black dress socks and shorts, like MY dad does...

Extremely early, but I am liking Blake Corum a lot. He's a physical runner despite his short stature. He can run between the tackles and catch the ball, he's shifty and he's got more burst/speed than any RB I can remember at Michigan since probably Carlos Brown. Brown was very fast in a straight line, but pretty much not good at anything else.

utee, what's the word on Xavier Worthy? I'd like to slap the shit out of Sarkisian for stealing him from Michigan. Can't blame the kid though. Harbaugh is a 'tard when it comes to offensive football. Sarkisian on the other hand is almost as good as it gets.

Dax Hill has top 10 NFL draft pick talent. Hopefully we see that this year. Saw plenty of that his frosh year. Kinda disappeared last year as a soph in the crazy COVID year. I'd like to see him remerge here.

not a big fan of anchovies or sardines, but had a pasta in Sicily that had both with toasted breadcrumb and it was out of this world.

Usually the simplest recipes are the best. But sometimes they are also the hardest to make because of the technique. Cacio e pepe is just pecorino cheese, toasted black pepper, and pasta water- but I think it's the hardest pasta to make. Too much pasta water you've got a soup. Not enough pasta water you won't get a creamy sauce. Not enough heat on the pecorino you get a weird watery paste. Too much heat on the pecorino you get a nasty gooey string cheese. Timing, amounts, and heat control have to be perfect to make that- it's tricky af and super easy to ruin.
Yeah, we've gotten pretty good at cacio e pepe. We were doing it every other Friday during the pandemic, and eventually came up with a mix of three different recipes until we got it right.

That said, ours is not traditional as we use more than cheese, pepper, and pasta water. But it's delicious and repeatable.

Bear in mind, New Balance are not Dad shoes. White New Balance are Dad shoes. The more stylish running shoes are ok.

3rd and 15 and you call a run? This offense is the same sad sack of shit. Harbaugh is a f#kn moron and Gattis is an OC in name only. Harbaugh is heavily involved and his fingerprints on everything. The guy is a f#kn shmuck and the game has passed him way by.

Blake Corum is really good. McNamara is like ELA said- probably the most legit QB they've had since Jake Rudock. The OL looks iffy, and the offensive coaching staff are still literally retarded.

Going to be a long season.

I use a touch of olive oil when I'm toasting the black pepper and a few crushed but whole cloves of garlic to flavor the pan, but I remove the garlic once it's done it's job. I also use a little bit of butter to help emulsify everything. The Italians probably wouldn't have a problem with the butter or oil, but the garlic they might get upset about. They don't use the garlic in everything like the Italian-Americans do here.
