I am picking up what you’re putting down. How many eight balls of “Movies“ with Miami like?

Miami is insane. The amount of billion plus dollar condo, hotel, & mixed use developments that have gone up in the last 10 years is nuts and there's a shit ton more of it coming over the next 10 years. Half the skyline in the city has been built within the last 20 years. Miami is the #3 city in US in terms of amount of high rises right now. Give it another 20 years and wouldn't be shocked if they surpass Chicago for #2.

There are 90 high rise buildings under construction in Miami right now, that's more than all in the entire state of California combined. Only NYC has more under construction. Miami is definitely the "it" city in the US right now, and the art basel week and gentrification of Wynwood has brought all these big money artsy weirdos with too much money no taste and too little brains that were confined to NYC and LA....it kind of sucks actually wish those freaks would stay in their blue shitholes and not come here and try to fuck things up for the normal people.

If it means anything, Mdot, I have no interest in moving to Miami and fucking it up.

If I move somewhere and fuck it up, it'll be Austin.

Don't bother.  Austin was way cooler 20 years ago.  You probably missed its prime.

IT was cooler 20 years ago, because we were 20 years younger. Yep.

It is insane. We only go there for cruise ship access.

I also think Miami is safely red now. Cubans and all that.

Story of my life. I got into the world of electrical engineering and moved to Silicon Valley... Right at the start of 2001. Which you may recall as the exact moment the "dot com bubble" burst in spectacular fashion.

I listen to the sales guys who are a decade older than me talk about how absolutely crazy things were in the 90s, with money flowing as freely as the Mississippi River, and some of the debauchery that was commonplace at the time.

But that's okay. I'm middle-aged. "Prime" Austin probably isn't for me anyway.
