I was watching some highlights on youtube and got to thinking - who were the players who even if you did everything right against them, they were still too good and would beat you?
Right off the top of my head, it's guys like
Randy Moss
Barry Sanders
Derrick Henry
Ndomukong Suh
I guess I'm mostly thinking physical specimens. Moss wasn't fair, especially winding up in a place like Marshall and their schedule. WRs aren't supposed to be that tall AND that fast.
With Sanders, it was his agility/elusiveness. You're not supposed to be able to juke that much AND still get yards. Henry was just bigger than a RB is supposed to be and fast as well. Most big programs wouldn't sign him at RB, but he's shown he belongs there. And then Suh - a DL isn't supposed to be that strong and be a good pass-rusher. They're not supposed to dominate games unless they're flying around the edge.
What are some other college football-specific guys who were too good - who broke molds and did things you're not supposed to be able to do?
