Not only does "going out" cost so much more these days (bar tabs, parking fees, etc) but the general experience of leaving your home has gone downhill. Panhandlers walking right up to your car at every red light, angrier than ever customer/fan behavior, endless road construction, long lines and large crowds most everywhere you go (speaking for Southern California).
Sounds like you need to move to Coastal Florida, where everything is better! :)

first and foremost, I don't need to drive that far to see the Huskers take a beat down

2nd, my October is getting pretty busy.  Oct 1st and 2nd, 40th high school reunion, 8th and 9th the annual Sharkwater Tailgate

We're doing the full weekend at TX-OU this year, including the Cowboys game on Sunday afternoon.  That's about all my football travel budget can take this season.

But it'll be a cool game to watch from the comfort of my own home while preparing myself for Texas' game against... errr... Rice... that evening. :)
