Very sad to see.
The Huskers looked fundamentally unsound, meaning badly coached.
Adrian Martinez is a turnover machine.
And who misses 2 out of 3 PATs?
My impression exactly, the game was painful to watch at times.  I've always thought Illinois could have a decent program with the right coach.  They aren't there yet of course.

Probably should go all in on Matt Campbell. Gonna need a Brinks truck.

Can probably get him to leave ISU, now that the Big 12 looks to be a dying conference.

Back up the Brinks truck for a guy that can't even beat Kirk Ferentz?

Even worse. He might not take it.

I suppose they could wait on Lance Leipold at Kansas. Or any other coach in that conference.

Both teams looked bad.  Both will get better.  The game was an argument to avoid difficult 1st games.  Just look at all the sunshine being blown at UCLA for beating a hapless Hawaii.

Course he'd still have to play Iowa so there's that 😎

I think its a bit premature to talk about replacing Frost.  Is this something Nebraska’s new AD wants to do?

I read that if Frost is fired this year, his buyout would be $20 million.

After Campbell led Iowa State to its best season in program history, Matt Campbell is getting respect as one of the top head coaches in college football, let alone the Big 12. In his five seasons as head coach, he’s taken Iowa State from a 3-9 team to one that played in the Big 12 Championship Game and won a New Years Six bowl game. With Iowa State on the verge of possibly another big season, many across the country and the Big 12 conference have taken note of the efforts of Campbell and his staff in Ames.

This week, CBS Sports ranked the Big 12 coaches entering the 2021 season. Ben Kercheval of CBS Sports was tasked with compiling the rankings for the 10 head coaches. After he was ranked as the fourth-best Big 12 head coach entering 2020, Campbell came in as the No. 2-ranked head coach in the conference for the upcoming season. Campbell — who has won the Big 12 Coach of the Year award three times — came in behind Oklahoma's Lincoln Riley and ahead of Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, TCU's Gary Patterson and Kansas' Lance Leipold."Campbell continues his meteoric rise as he takes Iowa State to rare heights," Kercheval wrote. "Few coaches shot up the rankings as quickly as he did in 2020, and with good reason. Iowa State went 9-3, won the Fiesta Bowl, made it to the Big 12 title game and beat Oklahoma and Texas in the same regular season

Still bitter I pasted your illusions of those terrific Toledo teams he supposedly lead. After backing up the brinks truck for Ferentz what has he really won?2015 they went 12-2 When is the last time he played for a conference title or beat the two best teams in the conference in the same season?Throttles tOSU by 31 then turns around and takes a dump to a Purdue team that was 4-5 in conference. He lost his last 6 games one year - at his salary that shouldn't have happened
