Allar went to my HS and was phenomenal. I don't know if the problem is him or PSU's staff but the fact that, as you said, "he seems to have regressed" makes me think it is the latter.

A mediocre 4th year DI quarterback at a helmet school is probably always a freak in high school.

That fumbling/down by grass contact was…interesting. That PSU got that game to OT was a minor miracle.

And they still don’t appear ready for prime time. But Oregon is. Their defense was in PSU’s backfield the entire game.

And Georgia…surprised me, with the way they were playing in the second half, that they didn’t pull it out. And that they passed on the tying FG from under 40 yards with under 5 minutes to play, to go for it on 4th down…that’s the stuff conservative game calling comes from.

(approximations, as ESPN's play-by-play is a fucking mess)
0-4 passing, dispersed among 4 scrambles (for 33 yds) - IE 8 failed pass plays
7-yd TD pass
Game-ending INT

Penn St called 17 running plays among the 1 for 5 passing (plus 4 scrambles that were likely called pass plays).
They knew Allar would not win the game for them.
They didn't trust their SR QB.

Penn State's INT. in 2OT on a 2 pt conversion that Duck wr streaked his ass down field and tackled the DB who fumbled forward to another DB and he tackled him. I looked him up and his name is Dorian Brew a freshman keep your eyes on that kid. He has to run track that dude swooshed hizz self past everyone. Very poor decision from Moore to throw there but not a bad pass as the Lion DB had no problem snagging it

So Bama and the Ducks get twins OTR in tough venues look impressive

Some comments on 11W about former Buckeye DC Jim Knowles who left for Happy Valley

-Leaving tOSU for BIG GAME JAMES was quite the move.  But I don't hate it.  Matty P is okay by me.

-Franklin will be easier to push around and the Nitts are accustomed to losing big games, so a better fit all around.

- He was negotiating for a contract BEFORE the Natty when he should have been doing his job was a back stab.

-Don't forget him getting butthurt when Day stepped in to help fix the defense

-The seeds for Knowles' exit were planted out in Eugene.Jim didn't like getting called on the carpet,well be better at your job.

-Knowles' ego apparently doesn't allow humility, so he tried to assert, himself as the alpha by demanding a raise with the threat of leaving.

-I don’t hate him but for the first time I can remember, the grass IS greener on the other side. Enjoy your ego trip Jimbo

- His best years at Okie State he had a productive offense to lean on. His best years at tOSU he had a productive offense to lean on. His best days are now behind him at PSU.

-it takes 3yrs to roll out his defense, Knowles thought he had something to prove and now he's on a team that isn't programmed to win big games.


-So, now that he’s at Penn State - does that mean they now have TWO Big Game James?

that defense wasn't the problem. Sutton the EDGE rusher is a DUDE. Knowles is a good DC and that defense is really good.

problem was Frames Janklin is the head coach, that OL looks like a typical Penn State OL (aka it sucks) and Drew Allar is incredibly mediocre and has not taken the next step and leveled up as a QB. If anything Drew Allar looks like he's regressed this year.
