I hope it's eerily weird in C-bus tomorrow morning

Mertz looks good to me already.  He has that “it” factor.

Competent starting Frosh QB— is that allowable?
He completed 20-of-21 passes for a 95.2% completion percentage, the best ever in a single game by a Badgers quarterback. His five touchdowns tied a single-game program record and his 17 completions to start the game tied the most consecutive passes completed by a Wisconsin quarterback in a single game.

Like I said, that injury sucks for the kid, but was the best thing for Wisconsin

Yes I actually posted that quite early in the game before he amassed all of those brilliant statistics.

It's early, and it was Illinois, but this kid could be a game changer. Need a solid TB to emerge.

Hate to say it, but I'm done with the Watson experiment. The kid is not a Big Ten tailback, and more certainly not a UW tailback. He's not even PJ Hill.

The defense is stellar and the QB looks the best since Wilson.  Need to get their running game in order and then they are a contender.

Kinda. Five years ago, the starter had concussion issues all year. They ended up relying most on the third-down back with a Ross-esqe No. 2 option and a HS QB-turning into a fullback as a change-up.

At the moment, the Ross-esque guy seems to be the lead, though the third-down back is better than him. And the spicy backup is a former WR who keeps bouncing between the positions.
