also: the penalties for Sparty were atrocious. coaches have to clean that up because it'll cost you in B1G play.

schedule ain't easy.

@Maryland, Ohio State, @Boston College (that QB is a pain rushing the football), @Oregon, Iowa, @Michigan.

Yeah, the penalties were the most concerning thing to me, aside from the OL play.  New staff, freshman QB.  I think people were overzealous with the offense.  Granted 16 points is awful.  But allowing 10 to a Tom Herman offense is a job well done, except for how much harder they made it on themselves with penalties.

Embarrassing that MSU couldnt find a place for a legacy player like Hallock.  He looks like the best player on the field

Wisconsin has no identity anymore.  Every team looks the same, so you default to talent.  Wisconain has 8-4 talent, and theyll probably go 8-4

Harbaugh is a douche, but he zigged, which allowed a 10-2 talent roster to win an NC.  No other coach has the balls to do it, because if you lose doing what everyone does, you can blame the roster.  If you zig with a 10-2 roster, and go 7-5, its on you.  You dont go contrary just for the sake of it, but lean into an identity.

Minnesota and Iowa would complain they drew a short straw in the Big Ten West

OSU gets to play them while they will be suffering from the Wisconsin effect.

TCU-Stanford, in a classic Big 12-ACC match up.

yeah idk about all that. maybe if you're talking offensive skill talent but even that is debatable and really only applies to WR's which were just meh. JJ McCarthy was just a top 10 NFL draft pick QB. Colston Loveland is a surefire 1st rounder TE. Blake Corum was just drafted in the 3rd round and was about as good of a college RB as one could possibly be. He was basically Mike Hart 2.0 but more jacked/built and with 4.5 speed instead of 4.75 speed. Edwards was the most talented offensive player on that entire roster and he didn't really do jackshit last year except for Penn State and the Washington games.

Jeem's ground and pound style honestly only worked because of the defense he built, and Jeem mostly definitely had 15-0 talent last year on defense. His DT rotation was insane. Mason Graham is going to be a top 10 pick barring injury. Kenneth Grant is going to be a 1st round pick barring injury. Kris Jenkins was just drafted 2nd rd. Rayshaun Benny is very underrated and could find himself drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft if he can return to form from injury. Their EDGE room wasn't that far behind and they rotated snaps almost equally between all 4 of them. Jaylen Harrell was just drafted, Braiden McGregor only really played 1 season at Michigan because injuries derailed his career- and he probably should've been drafted just based on him flashing in the playoff and his upside alone- and he was just one of the best defensive players in fall camp and in pre-season for the NY Jets- a team that is absolutely loaded on defense and made their 53 man roster as a UDFA. Derrick Moore and Josaiah Stewart should both have really good seasons barring injury and get drafted. Their 3 ILB rotation from last year will all get drafted once Ernest Hausmann goes pro and gets drafted and he will because that guy is a dude. Will Johnson is a lockdown #1 CB who would've been the first corner taken in the 2024 draft if he was eligible for the draft. Mikey Sainistril was the best nickel in the country last year and a 2nd rd pick and already making rave reviews in Washington. Rod Moore at FS would've been a 2nd rd pick if he had declared for the draft instead of came back and tore his ACL in spring ball. CB Josh Wallace just made the LA Rams 53 man roster as a UDFA. SS Makari Paige will have a shot at gettin drafted after this year. Keon Sabb transferred to Bama but he played a ton for them last year in their safety rotation and that's a future NFL draft pick safety too. They were pretty loaded on defense in '23.

Slept until after 7. Feels like odds of me cooking today aren't great. We'll see if I can get the wife to go pick something up
