Favorite Weird Jersey Number by Position
« on: July 21, 2025, 02:56:01 PM »
Random thought - I love when a player has an odd number for his position.
Think Tennessee's Peerless Price, WR, #37.
Big DTs wearing a single digit.

What are some of your favorites?

While most of the NBA back then liked their jersey numbers in the 20s or 30s, dating back to their college days when both digits had to be 1 through 5 in order for refs to identify fouls on one hand (not an NBA practice), I always liked how Dennis Rodman came out of nowhere with a 91 jersey. Weird, but the least weird thing about him:

I hate the zero as a jersey number.

I love it at OSU, since it's essentially a block O.

Also has cool historical ties, as the captains used to wear a block O in the pre-leather helmet days.

Is this acceptable?
