The car mags say otherwise.  It would appear to be different but at least competitive if not better.

I'm sometimes concerned that the car mags can be influenced by $$$, but no real proof of that

I think they can be at times without meaning to be.   But usually they don’t appear to play obvious favorites.

And there are several though two main ones are linked.  C&D and R&T.

the car mags are full of shit. and in the article you linked they even admitted super cruise is nothing but lane change assist cruise control bullshit.

Tesla FSD is LIGHT YEARS ahead of it. Tesla FSD will literally drive itself completely on a 20 hour cross country car trip from start to stop and park itself at the end. Without you having to touch the steering wheel, gas pedal, turning signal, or brakes once.

Super Cruise is a bullshit gimmick compared to Tesla FSD. Because: Tesla builds it's own custom AI chips and even more importantly has a MASSIVE insurmountable data advantage over the competition.

No other auto manufacturer comes close to Tesla when it comes to tech and that massive gap has gotten even wider with the GrokAI integration into the new models which is getting better with every update and the Starlink integration that is coming soon.

Don't talk to me about Super Cruise vs Tesla FSD until you've actually experienced both for yourself. who cares what some outdated magazine that nobody even reads any more says? honestly.

Got a new truck over the holidays.  After 17 years with the last car, it was just time.

This thing has something called eTorque which I don't understand, need to read about it, but I gather it has something to do how the RPMs mysteriously go to 0 when I come to a full stop.  Can't hear the engine when I stop, either.  I don't mind telling you, I don't understand how a truck is running if the RPMs are 0 and I can't hear the engine.

Took a little getting used to, because the acceleration is not immediately there when my foot moves from the brake to the acceleration pedal.  It takes a split second for the engine to come back "on" and then the gas pedal means something.

Is it something you can disable?  My FIL's Ford Explorer does that, as does my son's Mustang.  But you can disable it if you like.

Would have to check on that.  It hasn't been a bother, tho, since I got used to it, and I assume it helps gas mileage, so I might leave it on anyway even if it can be turned off.

I sure have bought a lot of RAMs for a self-professed Chevy guy.

Well, two RAMs.  And a self-professed Chevy guy in high school, which was decades ago, but in my head I still think "Oh, I'm a Chevy guy" despite not knowing anything about brand distinctives as I (thought I) did in school.

Yeah my son keeps his enabled since he's paying for his own gas.  My FIL hated it and so we turned it off for him.

I've owned all the brands over the past (too many) decades.

4 Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, 2 Fords, 2 Chevys, 1 Honda, 1 Toyota.  And now the kids' 2 Fords as well.

They've all been about the same, at least the American ones.  For the Japanese ones, the Honda was great and the Toyota was the biggest POS I've ever encountered, as discussed many times around here.

I guess I'm pretty agnostic when it comes to vehicle brand.  I'm more interested in features matching my needs.  The current F150 was the best combination of towing capability, cabin size, and driveability, available at the time.
