Aside from confirming we suck, I just learned that you can get called for targeting a butt cheek while wrapping up with your arms.

Utter nonsense.

This is the first Purdue game I've turned off in a long long time.

I was curious about that one so I researched it. It seems that targeting has replaced spearing, which was not only banned to protect a ballcarrier but also to try to get defenders to stop leading with the crown of the helmet. And if you lead with the crown of the helmet, all of the "defenseless player" and "forcible contact to the head and neck" doesn't matter.

Dude looked to be leading with the crown of the helmet.

This is the first Purdue FB game I've turned on in >2 years, and yeah I turned it right off. After it was 7-0 I went to go do my Peloton ride and take a shower, and when I came back it was 21-0. No point in watching a bloodbath.

Dillon Gabriel and Oregon looking sharp as hell.

Yeah, the crown of the helmet is not for being an egregious tackle but to avoid the defenders breaking their own necks.

This Gopher OL is unable to handle prosperity. Just when they put some nice plays together, they sputter on 2nd and 3rd and short.

They'll get away with it against these teams. But the next three teams on the docket are Iowa, Michigan, and Southern Cal, all of which are a country mile better than anything you've seen so far.

This has been a very boring game so far.
