It was a shady deal and Michigan fans are just going to have to take it. For all eternity probably.

Heck, we still give ags shit for all their probations and TV bans and bowl bans back in the 80s when their coaches were Fedexing giant wads of cash to recruits.  Jackie $herrill is still know as "Fedex Jackie" in Austin, and always will be.
