Michigan might bring better ratings, but the SEC SEC SEC doesn't want to split the pot for the title game and also give the possibility that an SEC SEC team might not win the trophy

lesson to ND: join a conference. Had they been in the ACC and in the ACC title game and won it in convincing fashion vs either a pedestrian Pitt or Wake Forrest teams- they are 12-1, P5 conference champs and likely in the playoff right now.

I don't know that this would have helped ND. Not sure beating Pitt or Wake Forest would jump them over anyone in the playoffs.

There's almost no way they keep a 12-1 conference champ P5 team out imo. Cincy or Georgia would be at home right now, and ND would be in.

I think the committee got it right.

If ND was in the ACC, they likely would have not played Cincy, and even more likely would have been 13-0.

Very unlikely they could get past Cincy having lost to them, and getting past Georgia...possible. I dunno. Doesn't feel likely. Would have been in better shape if Clemson was great this year, but they weren't.

All it takes is for the "1" to be a loss to a team like Purdue.

Notre Dame isn't getting the SEC/Bama mulligan by joining the ACC.

I have no problem with Bama getting in but I do have a problem with the dogs getting in

there should never be a rematch in any playoff system

games should mean something

And yet there are rematches in EVERY playoff system......as if you don't know what a playoff is.

Bama is a 13.5 point favorite.
UGA is a 6.5 point favorite.

Yawn.

Penn State to the Outback is a mockery of the bowl selection process.
