The only excuse you could give the Dawgs' defense is that Bryce Young hss never ever run like he did in the 2nd quarter.  That makes him sort of unfair, lol.
I don't know man. I think Georgia defense matches up terribly with teams that can actually throw the ball at an elite clip. Their defense is designed to shut down the run. I think Ohio State would torch them too.

Georgia might have the worst secondary I've ever seen on an "elite" defense and their defensive line has zero pass rushers. All run stuffers.

yeah- just went back and looked at their schedule- they had a pretty easy slate vs some pretty awful to mediocre offenses.

This is also my take watching Georgia’s “historic” defense get lit up. Reflecting on Georgia’s schedule they either overwhelmed teams like Kentucky and Arkansas at home by sheer NFL talent advantage or faced one-dimensional, erratic offenses like Auburn’s.

Georgia could be on the verge of getting blown out. No way they should go to the playoff if Bama runs away here and wins 45-17.
You realize that 1 game out of 13 is only 7.7% of the season, right?

getting a "Don Brown" feeling with this Georgia defense. it's mostly a sieve.

their schedule outside of Bama....kinda bad. And do they really deserve to be in the playoff if they get blown off the field?

The other side of the argument is that plenty of teams face weak offenses every season.  But none of them were as good on defense as UGA was this year (until today).

Weak schedules are a dime a dozen.

So in one game, they can go from unanimous #1 team to definitely not one of the top 4?

That's quite a swing.

Georgia defense = a Don Brown defense. One trick pony that overpowers crappy offenses but gets exposed & blitzkrieged by teams with actual offenses.

Cinci and Bama looking good.

If Michigan holds chalk as favorite- it will be Michigan, Bama, Cinci and Georgia.

Probably in that order too- I can’t imagine the committee setting up a Bama/ Georgia rematch in first round.

Or, Bama, Mich, Georgia, Cinci.
Exactly. No SEC matchup in the semi so the committee will work it out one if those ways.

....aaaaaannnnnnd if Iowa wins?

Agree. POTFI.
