If so, that's completely indefensible, empirically false, and you're talking out of your ass.  The problems you routinely point to are greed problems, not capitalism problems, and I assure you they exist in socialist, communist, and any other economies you can go through in history.  

If not, then you have no point in bringing capitalism into this and are just taking another random, pointless, silly shot at a system that has reduced poverty on a scale never seen in world history and which isn't responsible for most of the things you complain about.

I don't think any country has "unfettered capitalism" any more than any country has "pure" socialism, whatever that might be.  The Nordic countries all claim to have free markets, and largely they do.  Even Cuba has a smattering of privately owned stores.

Greed is a human condition, it's not new, it isn't worse now than in 1800.  It can be negative or positive, I didn't work because I enjoyed the work, I worked because of my greed.

Greed and unfettered capitalism aren't synonyms now?  You sure 'bout that?  Unfettered capitalism is predatory and weaponized.  If you don't see that, I can't help you.

False.
The 'winners' are a smaller % and make more money.  The 'losers' are much, MUCH more numerous and are RELATIVELY worse off than the losers back then.
And if you're going to semantics your way out of greed isn't worse now, cool, don't care, because the weaponization of greed is much worse now.

Yes, they're spending money they don't have (yet?) and their valuations are so many times earnings (if any at all) that it's very possible going to cost a lot of people a lot of money.  A few will benefit, as they always do, and everyone else can wither and die.

I'm absolutely sure.  

Unfettered capitalism is an economic system.  It's morally neutral, and subject to great greed, or great altruism, or anything in between.  Greed is a personal trait or motivation, and defined as "excessive or rapacious desire, especially for wealth or possessions."  

You have committed a category error.  If you complain about peoples' personal traits and motivations, I'm listening.  But complaining about the mechanism available to them, which is also available to people with much nobler aspirations, presumably such as yourself?  Makes no sense.  

And I assume you can describe the economic system you'd like people to not be greedy in.  I'm genuinely interested, and extra points for historical examples of it being implemented and leading to better outcomes than we currently have.

No. They're not. There's greed in Cuba and North Korea. There's greed in Sweden and Norway. There was greed going back throughout history. 

As CD says, greed is part of the human condition. Greed is inherent in the business owners who are trying to profit from selling goods and services as well as the lowly workers who are selling their labor for money. The owner wants more money; so does the worker. 

What capitalism actually does is harnesses greed and allows for people to satisfy their greed by producing products and services for other people and selling those products and services at a profit, in the interest of getting rich. Instead of the greedy and powerful stealing from others via brute force, they have to offer something of value in order for people to willingly part with their money.  

Is capitalism perfect? Of course not. Because capitalism is human, and humans aren't perfect. 

But the paradox of this world is that the system, capitalism, where everyone is ostensibly looking out for themselves, has historically outperformed literally every alternative, including systems like socialism/communism where we're all supposed to be in it together.

Ton of greed in communism.   Look no further than the concentration of power and wealth within the CCP.  Or the Politburo.

The US once had "unfettered capitalism", ca. 1890, and we had poisons in products, Robber Barons, monopolies ... the System reacted to add in some fetters.

I was gonna say, if he thinks the winners are a small % and the losers are worse off than they used to be here......

....get a load of the countries with socialism, communism, feudalism.....

There aren't many real socialist economies left in the world, none are doing at all well.  Folks say "Sweden", but Swedes claim they have a free market economy (mostly).

France has a bit of socialism, the government does own parts of some larger companies, I think Airbus,  Michelin us public.  My wife worked for Saffron which is a very large French outfit.  I view socialism largely as where larger businesses are owned by the government.
