FWIW, BTN's Tom Dienhart has u guys getting there:

"The Big Ten will have nine bowl teams. Who do I see in the postseason? Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Maryland in the East. Wisconsin, Northwestern, Nebraska and Iowa in the West."
Pretty much every projection other than my own has said 6-6 or 7-5, but I just don't see it right now.

Counting bowl game / potential BigTen Championship Game:

Overachieving: 0-1 loss
Success: 2 losses
Expectation: 3 losses
Disappointment: 4 losses

For Purdue. 4 wins would be a success, and looking like the team actually has some life in them in the losses.

I know Vegas has the O/U as 2.5 wins for the Boilers, but IMHO the schedule is easier on the back end and if Brohm is as good as billed, hopefully the team will be coming together by then.

I think the Boilers have possible wins against Ohio, Minnesota, @Rutgers, Illinois, and Indiana. Having 4 of those 5 at home doesn't hurt.
I see it the same.
I'm hoping the injury to Blough doesn't derail any of this.  I'd hate to have QB questions half way into the season.

at this point, anything less than sec champs and a playoff birth is disappointing.

I've noted before, if you are a K State fan, you can have a ton of fun with football and be happy you made some bowl game.

Fans for Alabama and Ohio State and a few others can get so wound up in "having to win" they can forget to have fun.  Anything less than a conference championship and playoff spot is a disappointment.

Dawg fans are in that awful middle where you expect to be good enough to maybe somehow be good but you have that feeling you're going to lose "to Vandy" and blow it.

I can articulate the gradients by which measurements are scored, considering Iowa's schedule:

9-3 Over achieving.
8-4 Success.
7-5 Satisfactory.
6-6 Disappointing; audible grumblings, but within expectations.
5-7 Grumblings are growing loud (but the coach will hang-on until tomorrow).
4-8 There will be some pissed-off Iowans; the QBs coach will "retire," other coaches will hold-on 'til next year.
I'm pretty much in agreement with this.
Last year, 8 wins was a minor disappointment considering the schedule, but wasn't all that bad considering the letdowns against ND St and Northwestern.  I fully expected a loss against Penn State and Wisconsin, but 10-2 was not out of the question last year.  And the bowl game performance was the most pitiful in recent memory.
8 wins this year, considering the schedule, I'd be more than fine with.  I'd actually be a little disappointed with a 6-6/7-5 season, mainly because I really think Brian F. can breathe a spark of life into the Iowa offense (it might not be apparent right away, but when the meat of the B1G schedule hits, who knows).  Iowa tends to do better against Wisconsin in Madison than in Iowa City, so I wouldn't hand the Badgers the Bronze Bull just yet.  If Iowa has any luck with the passing game this year, that game will determine the West.

I'd say that the Indiana/OSU game scared me WAY more about facing Indiana than I was yesterday afternoon. I thought losing Kevin Wilson was going to slow their offense down. It almost looks like it's gotten better.
