So the one seed gets a favorable path over the others?

That's outrageous!
Easier path, bye; Potato, Potatoe.

Yes.  If you told me MSU suddenly had a backdoor to the playoffs, but we had to use a starting QB from another CFP team.  My choice, in order, would be Young, Ridder, McNamera, Bennett

Here's your answer, all tied up in a pretty bow.
I just like results to matter.  Sue me.  I'd rather see Cincinnati, who beat #5, but was not tested as frequently, get a chance to prove it, over a bunch of teams getting their 3rd chance to prove it.

I was genuinely agreeing with you.

I love how everyone already is acting like Alabama has a semifinal bye and will be well rested for the CFP final.

If Alabama's players are already thinking that... They might be well rested and on their asses watching the CFP final on TV.

I don't think "we" give UC enough credit for their season, and last year as well, but I think Bama will beat them, it just won't be a major blow out.  It could be of course, "we" forget how lame Bama has looked most of this year.

bama has been helter skelter at best this season. the seccg was first game in which they played well for the whole game. this bama team has the potential to be really good, but they've only realized that potential once. they've managed to survive on 1-2 good qtrs in several games, but i think cincy is good enough to not fall that way. bama will have to play good. and if they do, should win comfortably, but that's a pretty big IF this season. i'm glad they got their shot and almost sad it's vs bama, as i'd be pulling for them otherwise.

we lost metchie. dude doesn't have the flash of j williams, but he was so clutch in many games. and finished 3rd all time in catches for a single season for bama, behind smitty and cooper. we will miss him.
but bama is also getting a lot of talent back from injury. star dline chris allen will likely be back. also getting a cople reserve wr's back, so maybe one of them can step up in place of metchie.

Last I checked neither I nor anyone else on this board play for Bama or any other team.  Frankly, the mediots building up of Cincy as a legitimate challenger who has been held back too long by some conspiracy helps Bama here.  Cincy would be easy to overlook in an early-season game but this isn't that.  This is a CFP Semi-Final and a lot of the media will be talking about ways that Cincy could win.  Bama will be ready and Cincy will get rolled.

Bama did have close games but so did Cincy.  The difference is that Bama's were against competent opponents while Cincy's were against their joke of a schedule.  Here are their two schedules ranked by CBS's 1-130 rankings:

Cincy's opponents were only tougher at the #11 and #12 spots and both were only barely tougher (118 vs 119 and 124 vs 127) and in any case that is so far down the schedule that it really makes little or no difference anyway because these games should clearly be easy wins for either team.

Bama, like all P5 teams, had to play teams that could at least plausibly knock off a NC Contender week after week.  Their nine SEC opponents (incl SECCG) and their OOC game against Miami, FL were all against teams in the top half of CBS's 1-130 rankings.  Cincy played half that many such opponents even giving them credit for #67 ECU.  Ie, Bama had twice as many opponents good enough to give them a scare.

I bet they don't have the balls to sit out their starters, like an NFL team that has already clinched the one seed in the playoff.

In that scenario, the NFL team literally doesn't care if they lose. It has no bearing on their ability to win a Super Bowl.

In this case, an Alabama loss would end their bid for the MNC. So no, I don't think they'd sit any starters.
