so, you're gonna find a way to get them to stay home or, more likely, have those players go to other programs in the conference and they can play at home once and a while?

My conference partially is built on recruiting bases.

Honestly, the only school I really needed for that was Miami.

It is also built on AAU membership, and I'm hopeful that my collection of AAU members will lift Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee into that premier level.

I really wanted Kentucky so I could get to Northwestern, but JG just beat me to it.

I wasn't gonna go through Ohio (Cincy) and Indiana (Purdue) to get there, although I'd be very happy to have Purdue in the fold.

The Chicago area produces some great players, which NU delivers for whoever lands them.

(I think I just made JG's next pick)

Now that I'm done and the rest of you are bloating your conferences to the point the Big Ten is blushing, I can reveal my Evil Plan.

You all have some very impressive teams.

Lots of powerhouses.

I have a few schools with decent name recognition, and crown jewels of Ohio State and Penn State.

What you all didn't know, is in the hypothetical world we've built.......

We're going back to the BCS.

We're going back further than that......the mythical national championship!!  But with a +1 as necessary.  Because it's doable.

They'll be part of a real conference here.

Plus, as MDT alluded to, I need some chum for my big-boy programs.
I'm going to 16, with 4 pods of 4, so everyone can play everyone else every 2 years, and none of the silly UGA-A&M nonsense of once in 16 years.

There are prudent ways to adjust with the changing times, but like Congress, the college football decision-makers are ancient dolts who are whores to an extra dollar.

UCLA is part of a "real" conference right now.

They don't give a shit about football unless they are winning. Same goes for SC (to a lesser degree).
