I remembered the 1999 SEC Championship getting ugly, but re-watching, it's sort of weird that it was close early in the 4th. Alabama outgained Florida 462-114. Jesse Palmer was 7-20 for 80 yards and 3 picks. Alabama was +3 in TOs.
Forgot how fun the 2000 Citrus Bowl was. Spurrier vs. Saban (even though he wasn't there, he built the team)
MSU was loaded at WR/TE, and the teams were throwing the ball all over the field.
That was a good Florida team, undone by the fact Jesse Palmer was the QB, and they seemingly had some misses, because the upperclassmen were shaky. But They had Earnest Graham, Taylor Jacobs, Rex Grossman, Reche Caldwell, Mike Pearson, Kenyatta Walker, Jabar Gaffney, Lito Sheppard, Alex Brown, Gerard Warren, all getting reps as underclassmen.
Just to test my theory, looked at the 2000 NFL Draft. Travis Taylor was picked #10 overall. Erron Kinney and Darrell Jackson in the 3rd round. Cooper Carlisle in the 4th. Eugene McCaslin in the 7th.
That has to be the least "NFL ready" talent Florida had in like 15 year span
