I also like to muse if the realities were reversed, how incredulous the argument would be from the B1G side.  On success, on depth, on everything.
IF the B1G schools had 6-7 slots of the top 10 recruiting classes every single year.
IF B1G schools won 7 NCs in a row.
IF the B1G had 6 different NC winners in the past 30 years.
IF the B1G had the most draft picks every single year.
IF the B1G had the most 1st round draft picks every single year.
.
It wouldn't be a debate.  There would be no discussion.
Yet here we are.

I view the ACC as a pretty decent conference, they have two "contenduhs" and then some teams that probably are better than half the SEC.

For the past...idk, like 12 years, the ACC has been the traditional Big Ten:  Big 2 + dwarves
Want to know another reason why ND will never join a conference?
Just look at Miami in the ACC.

Those 6 different schools have also won at least 1 national championship since 1998.
Need I research how far you have to go back for other conferences to do the same?!?
And careful, if you want to lump in all the new realigned additions, that number leaps to 8 different schools since '98 winning NCs (UTA 05, OU 00).
Talk about depth.

Here's a hint:  no other conference has had 6 different NC schools going back 80+ years.  The SEC has done it in the last 27.
No depth.

Tale a look at the current B1G.

OSU, UM, Minnie, PSU, UNL, MSU and USC have won MNC's in the past 80 years.

Except if you're including the B1G newbie adds then you gotta include the SEC newbie adds, which makes it eight.  Which is different than seven.

Also, this is a really pointless and dumb conversation and has nothing to do with what is good about college football.  If anything it's highlighting the opposite.

Pointless and dumb is out metier.

I like CFB because it's weird and unpredictable and had tradition.  I like the old bowl system with the "mythical" NC because it's mythical to me anyway.  We now have a playoff winner.

I can recall when an unheralded UGA team went to Ann Arbor and beat might Michigan (who was pretty mediocre that year).  It put Dooley on the map.

That UM team lost a lot of close games, they were probably a bit better than mediocre.
