If he wants to stay local and have a shot at the NFL (I'm not saying he has a good shot), then his options might be:

UNC
VaTech
Tennessee
Auburn (?)
I presume South Carolina is out as a possibility (?).

Tech  has one guy who I think is pretty established. Not sure about UNC,  Tennessee is a mess so maybe.
South Carolina has junior quarterback who probably has NFL aspirations, so if Bryant waited, maybe?  Auburn wouldn’t be a bad option at all, though somewhere I read an interesting story speculating that Jalen hurts would be super perfect for that offense

Bryant is a graduate transfer, so he'd be looking for a team that he could start on immediately - and preferably a good team, I'd think. His choices will be very limited if the latter is true.

If he wants to start in 2019 for a good team who has an opening within say 250 miles, his options are limited.

Florida needs a QB, but the "good team" part might be premature.  UNC and UVA are down and out.  UNC did put a good QB into the league recently.  I think starting dominates "good team".

Florida wouldn't even think of taking him - we already retarded our offense an extra year by doing that with Del Rio/that Purdue guy.  I'd rather throw our true FR dual-threat kid to the wolves than just have a 1-year non-special place-holder.

When I first read that, I thought it was very odd, but then I realized the freshman is on campus now. If it was a guy next year, it would be a kind of perfect bridge. Are they redshirting Jones? That's pretty much punting this season I suppose.
Bryant would actually be a pretty good Mullen QB. Good runner with a lower passing ceiling he could work around.

Well Franks is a soph, so it's not like he's some lost cause.
9:8 TD to INT ratio last year is 12:2 so far this year.  Improved his QBR by 40 points.  He's not good, but he's improving.
I just hate the 1-year stopgap idea unless the guy fills the one weakness of an already elite team.

Hmmm, I didn't dig into his passing numbers. Saw they were running QB sweep with him and figured that wasn't good.
I was thinking about the stopgap idea. Initially I was gonna say, the transfers are good in that case and a a bridge to the future (Florida's were a bridge that just kinda dropped off into a swamp). But the more I think about it, get good QBing anyway you can and play the dude who plays the best QB.
I think fans really like the idea of a young guy stepping in and having a long run. There's an implied belief that starting early gets a guy needed reps and accelerates his way up the experience curve. And I'm finding myself less convinced of that, but more importantly less convinced it makes fans happy despite being what they want. Guys who play early often just sot of are what they are. They play a lot, often have ups and downs. Kevin Hogan and JT Barrett are good examples. They were very good freshmen, and spent the next few years with people asking "why weren't they better?"

If this where we talk about Mike Gundy getting himself a controversy. I think it was dumb as hell (and had a mighty edge of hypocrisy). Am I in the minority?
