Buying Single Game Football Tickets
« on: June 28, 2018, 01:21:18 AM »
What is now the best way to buy single game tickets when your team is the visiting team and their allocation is sold out?

Last year the night b4 the Iowa-Wisconsin game I bought tickets on the 40 about 60 rows up at Camp Randall on StubHub for < $90 per ticket.

This year I am looking at tickets for FSU @ ND. StubHub and Vivid, and other sites have prices above my normal budget for the cheap seats, like well into the $200s per ticket for cheap seats. When Ty Willingham was coach I bought tickets out front of ND Stadium in Row 2 in the end zone for about $40 per ticket (2003), and a girl from St. Mary's College who operated the Aetna net took our pics as we stood on the grass during a timeout. It was the coolest seat I ever had.

ND was really bad in Ty W's last season. In November in South Bend what would the market to be like as compared to the digital market. My buddy is coming from Tampa, and I am only 300 miles away.

Under the upper deck? Those are the best seats in the house. You got a smokin' deal on those seats, even if they were on the other side. Between rows 50 and 60 +/- is about the sweet spot in Camp Randall.
FSU at ND is not going to be cheap. Depending on how each team performs, the price could go up even more.

Singles I would try to show up on site, unless you are trying to sit in a certain area.  Hand in the air, aggressive haggle as the buyer has the leverage when it comes to a single.

Wow. That's gonna be a huge game.

Does ND typically play the top teams in the Acc as per their arrangement? Or do they mostly load up on a bunch of BC, Syracuse and Pitt?

My understanding was that it was a rotation where they play each ACC team a set number of times per cycle or whatever.  I don't think that there is any loading up on either the top or the bottom.

I like to have tickets in hand, especially for a long trip. I sleep better.

At Camp Randall we were opposite side from the cantilevered part of the stadium. The seats were some of the best seats to watch the one of the historically worst offensive performances in football history.

Notre Dame is contractually bound to play 5-games against ACC teams each season. I was skeptical they would rotate the games, and appear at Wake or Duke, but they seem to have been rotating the games home and away, and it gives me a chance to to see FSU play in the Midwest.

This is why I am reaching out for advice.  I hadn't thought about two singles bought out front. I'll check with my buddy, but  when we have limited time to spend together, and we see each other every five years or so, two singles in disparate parts of the stadium, might not be the way to go.

I am not sure what the market is like outside ND Stadium having only been there once, when ND was playing poorly.

Where is NDRules when we need him? :)

We went to USC at ND a few years ago,  there's a very healthy ticket resale market in So Bend, meaning supply.  I do wonder if UGA game was a recent exception, as that game seemed to maintain its high premium.   I admit, I misread your original post as someone seeking a single ticket, not single game ticket.

I still love showing up to haggle.
