I believe this happens at every top 50 program, not just the Big Ten.
The real question is whether (and how) the schools themselves are implicated.

Remember that a lot of the initial issue with the FBI basketball investigation was the idea that the shoe companies and bagmen were defrauding the innocent schools, who knew nothing--perhaps with the exception of Pitino--by trying to get ineligible players to commit to the school.

Now, I'm sure it's not true that the schools don't know--I'm guessing the sleazy coaches are sleazy. But I wonder if this guy can prove that he was working with coaches or assistant coaches, rather than working on his own (to try to get their investment business after graduation) or working with some other third-party, such as fans/boosters acting independently and without knowledge of the coaches.

A lot to unpack here... But as the article states, I'm sure the NCAA wants to avoid unpacking it as much as possible, sacrifice a few lambs, and then act like it's all cleaned up.

The NCAA seems so completely uninterested in this whole thing

I've read stories about SEC bagmen, and they are fairly well known down here.  I have always suspected B10 teams are in that same game, but the details aren't as well distributed up there.

Interesting.  So Larry Johnson is a part of the scheme.
