Friday Night Lights
« on: November 07, 2025, 05:48:42 PM »
Friday

9 p.m. Northwestern at No. 19 Southern Cal (FOX) Southern California will return home for the first time since a 31-13 win over then-No. 15 Michigan on Oct. 11. At 6-2, USC is still in the hunt for the Big Ten title and College Football Playoff but they need some help. Trojans get three of last four in LA with Iowa next and UCLA to close, but it still has to go to Oregon. USC is 5-0 V. the Wildcats, with the last meeting starring Keyshawn Johnson in the 1996 Rose Bowl.

Who would prevail in a skirmish between an actual Gopher and an actual Duck?

The duck can travel by land, sea and air, but the one thing it can't do? Tunnel through the Earth.

Clemson at No 20 L'Ville

The Cardinals look to bounce back, and the Tigers are fighting to close with a flourish. The Cardinals (7-2, 4-2), who were upset by Cal 29-26 last Saturday for their second home overtime defeat in a month. The Tigers suffered a 33-21 home loss to Louisville last season in a defeat Clemson coach Dabo Swinney called his team's worst performance last year. Clemson won the previous eight meetings with Louisville before last season's loss. Tigers caught a break that Penn State has become a total mess, otherwise the spotlight of disappointment would be shining on them however, it got by Florida State last week

Tigers QB Cade Klubnik has been hitting everything lately. Over his last four games, he has connected on 78% of his passes with eight touchdowns and one pick and he's going out there and ripping it. But there's no running game, there's a bit too much of a reliance on Klubnik at times. Both Louisville losses were in overtime, and those came in two of the three games. Louisville running back Isaac Brown is unlikely to be available but Keyjuan Brown, no relation, will be. Over his last three games, the back has 36 for 325 yards :o . Should be a good game

Fla.St V NC St.,8:00 ESPN - Two 5-5 team,no great stakes involved but quite possibly a great game to watch. And the winner will achieve bowl eligibility with time running out in the season. Florida State started out by rocking Alabama, and its loss to Virginia might turn out to be the catapult to the Cavaliers' run to the ACC Championship. The Noles close out the season at Florida.

NC State beat Virginia in a "non-conference" game, and it took down Georgia Tech a few weeks ago. It's an all-or nothing team - four of the five losses were blowouts - but win this, or against North Carolina, and it's in a bowl game. 'Noles are winless in three road games this season BUT the WolfPack has lost three of its last four games, giving up more than 35 points in four consecutive games.  Trying to recover from Saturday's 41-7 loss at then-No. 15 Miami.

Hopefully this is as good as last Friday's Clemson at Louisville contest

Amazing how far Florida State fell after beating Alabama.
