Thought seriously about Woodson, but I think Riley Smith is the guy.

Tough call between Humphrey and Taylor...but Taylor was a transformative talent at the position. 

Now I have to go shower after voting for a Miami Hurricane.

Maybe all this strategic/emotion-driven voting is related to the Brees/Frazier thing.

The title of each voting thread asks who was the best to ever wear the number.  Why do so many of us vote for other reasons?  I'm genuinely curious.  I feel like college football fans, in general, haven't had the same "ah-ha" moment many baseball fans did after Moneyball was released.  

We, as a collective, still value the anecdotal over the statistical - our hearts over our heads.  What's the aversion?  Why such sentimentality?  There's nothing wrong with it, as there are no stakes here - just some fun debate.  I wanted to vote for Rocket Ismail, but I didn't, because the evidence said someone else was better.  I still enjoy the memories of his play, I just didn't vote for him in a meaningless web forum voting thing.  Nothing changed.  He didn't get downgraded in my mind.  I just didn't vote for him.  Can we not use our heads and still keep what's in our hearts?

I'm absolutely, 100% not trying to influence future voting, just having a conversations.

You don't need votes to tell you who has the best stats.  I love the numbers driven stuff, but college football to me is the one sport that's bigger than that.  Plus, just voting based on the stats is no fun.  As you said, it's a meaningless web forum poll, we aren't electing guys into the HOF.  So why not set the perameters that mean the most to you.

I'm not suggesting everyone vote purely on stats, mostly because if they did, they'd ignore each player's context, lol.  I guess I'm saying that I can't fool myself into believing something without strong evidence to back it up.

Again, and this is common, too - a big subscriber to stats doesn't mean they're solely what you look at.  Context is a huge part of it.
