I was "pulling" for Texas but with an undercurrrent of hoping they lost.  This duality shouldn't exist but does.

At least my wife had the sense to put it on the backside of the tree.

The Purdue and UCSB ornaments are front and center.

Omaha steaks are good, just too expensive
I don't buy 'em.
These were a gift from my financial advisor.  I recommended him to some friends of mine and they opened up an account.
damn for a dirt farmer that mattress money must have turned some heads to get an FA to comp you like that. Last time I was in, I got a couple of cups of Joe and that was it. Even the bookie use to comp a few fish bowls

Yeah, I mean, this is why the overall confidence in the Ags from the national mediots was baffling, and why most Longhorn fans I know felt pretty good about predicting a Texas victory.

That said, they're still a very good team and they're having a great season.  It'll be interesting to see how they match up against the elite in the post-season.
I said before the game that I felt like the teams were very evenly matched.  I did not feel confident at all.

As far as the schedule, we played what they gave us. Any given year when you’ve got Florida, LSU, Mizzou, and Texas it would be considered a tough schedule. I believe LSU was ranked in the Top 10-15 when we played them as well, and we destroyed them in BR. If any of the other teams had beat us it could have altered their entire season. Especially LSU.  Remember, Texas would have a shot at the CCG if they had beat a bad Florida team.

I really wanted to make it to the SEC CCG.  Even if we lost, the chance to win the SEC is a big deal.

I don’t exactly know how the CFP works but they’re saying we will most likely get a first round game at home. Not sure who the projected opponent would be, but even if we play 1-2 more games we get an opportunity to win some more games and prove that we’re a great team and not some fluke. Of course, we could also prove the naysayers right, so there’s that.

A&M at 11-1 is a sure bet to get a first round game at home, meaning ranked 5-8.  They might drop to 6-7.

And they are in the barn.  Auburn is another barn.

I rather hope they upset the Tide.

If Auburn beats Alabama it puts A&M in the SEC CCG, I think.

My son and wife were pulling for A&M yesterday b/c they accepted him.

I do understand, but it's not like Texas rejected him... He didn't even apply to UT.

In other news, we have an actual Michigan ornament on the tree. I had forgotten that my wife bought it when we took my son to Ann Arbor [buying ornaments on travel is one of our things]. I took a picture of it and sent it to my Wolverine buddy with the caption "I feel dirty".
Remind me, what is he studying? Nuclear engineering?

My FA back in the day would usually host a dinner somewhere for many of his clients.

I think I learned a lot by watching what they did and asking a lot of questions.  My guess is I've done better over the past decade than they would have done.

But, that was mostly luck.  I had a few drop hard also.

I'm hoping for all of the 4 and 5 loss teams to lose today, except Wisconsin.

Backing into a bowl with 5 wins would go a long way toward development for next year - especially for the true freshman QB.

I get it. Ohio State has a similar situation. At the beginning of the year the schedule looked crazy with #1 and #2 but that #1 is a 9-3 team that will probably miss the playoffs and #2 fired their coach and is playing for bowl eligibility today.
