I like the techniques that avoid filters, especially paper filters. The best tasting coffee constituents are the oils. And though some will inevitably escape a filter, their loss is primarily a function of surface area contact and a paper filter provides too much of that.
We had a coffee discussion on the old board a few years back. For some reason if you do use paper filters - it blocks the cholesterol properties in the coffee,so there's that

My wife is quite reasonable and rational about nearly everything.  She dragged me into Cartier at the mall, but we just looked.  Holy cow there is some pricey trinkets in there.  I told her she could have the bracelet or the kitchen.

She also is fine with most of my extravagances, so we're balanced.  And so far liquid.

She's nice to have around.

What are "cholesterol properties"?  I can answer that chemically, like melting point and molecular weight, but I don't see how those properties can be blocked by a filter.

Cholesterol has 256 stereoisomers that arise from its 8 stereocenters, although only two of the stereoisomers are of biochemical significance (nat-cholesterol and ent-cholesterol, for natural and enantiomer, respectively),[100][101] and only one occurs naturally (nat-cholesterol).

Cut and pasted from wiki because I thought it fascinating.

Just blew water through a K-Cup to accomplish same.
same, seems good enough
plans are fluid here
going to a Hawkeye bar this morning at 10:30, if they won't put the Husker game on at the same time as the Hawl game I'll run home and watch the game at home and put chicken wings in the oven and finish them on the Weber grill
If the Hawk owner will allow the Skers and Cats on one of the screens I'll eat and drink there.  Charlie Boys and frosted schooners.
High of 58 here today with some wind, might get a round of golf after the early game.

That makes sense and is a good thing to know. But much like sodium intake isn't established to matter much unless a person has high BP or heart/kidney disease, I probably will keep seeking out delicious cholesterol so long as my HDL ("good cholesterol") blood level stays this high.

Since coffee oils adsorb in a manner dependent on the surface area they contact (and are so thoroughly removed by a paper filter that the surfactant "head" is lost), I find it plausible that cholesterol will be likewise reduced by that method.

Hot weather finally broke in my neck of the woods. Morning run, first in a damn week, was abbreviated and kinda slow, but refreshing all the same.

I have a work thing in the afternoon, but hoping to catch the back end of UW-Michigan. Happy to live in a time where I’ll be able to get a condensed version for study tomorrow AM.

Not sure if that will lead to some food or not.  It's a good day to make some chili, but I'm all out of beans and don't know if I'll get to the store.
you could knock on the door of an attractive neighbor lady and ask to borrow a can of beans

(Maybe the steak rolls belong on the grill or frying pan. Undecided. Will accept advice.

Still not used to fall season in Florida versus living in Michigan. Probably never will be.  I guess you can take the boy out of the Midwest but you can’t take the Midwest out of the boy.

One positive is to have the tv on inside as well as the one on the patio, where I have a outside kitchen and a nice inground pool. I can sit outside and enjoy my K-cup coffee, watch football cook, swim, let the dogs swim, use the grill- all year long.  Today is not humid thank god.

Grilling today, just not sure what.   Ribs, steaks, or chicken, with some homemade hash browns.

Good games on all day and into the late night.
