I look at the charts. I probably look at the first two the most, but also like watching the PR line graph play out over the year. I probably look at COTY chart the least, but I think it's a good chart.

1. Iowa: Hey I'm just rolling dice with the top four teams. Iowa gets the top spot this week with the steamrolling of Maryland. HEll, they even got over 400 yards of offense.
2. Michigan: Wisconsin's offense sucks, but their defense is great, and Michigan went on the road and had a lot of success. A week after it looked like throwing the ball just wasn't in the cards for them this year, they showed a pretty good passing game. Pretty complete team.
3. Penn State: Put a whipping on the Hoosiers. Would rank them higher but feels like Indiana has regressed to old Indiana this year.
4. Ohio State: Two weeks in a row where the defense didn't look like garbage. If they make it three I'll consider moving them up.
5. Michigan State: There is a bit of scotch tape and bubble gum holding this thing together, but hey, it's holding together. Undefeated, with four wins by double digits, ain't nothing to sneeze at.
6. Nebraska: Hey, that was a great performance, and after the top five you have to really grab on to what you can. Plus they outplayed the #5 team a week ago, so maybe Nebraska is legit? They welcome Michigan next week, and we will find out.
7. Wisconsin: Their offense is garbage. Their defense is good. I'm not sure they can score on anyone in the conference, but I'm not sure anyone can score on them outside the top few offenses.
8. Minnesota: Hey, they get a mulligan for Bowling Green.
9. Maryland: They get a mulligan for Iowa. Though losing Dontay Demus is a big blow headed into Ohio State.
10. Rutgers: They get a mulligan for OSU.
11. Purdue: I finally bothered with their box score and...what the hell. They outgained Minny by 150 yards. Only scored 13. Might be too low, but they have scored 13 in three straight games.
12. Indiana: Their offense is kaput
13. Illinois: Keep on Bertin.
14. Northwestern: Actually impressed with how bad they are after winning the West.

Four apparently pretty good teams, as noted above, and then, well, not so good.  Those top four are capable of laying eggs against the rest though.  I suppose that isn't unusual.  MSu is 5-0 and that is a something I think, even if not terribly impressive yet.

Well, the more things change, the more they stay the same.  The Big Ten East is back to being a top 4 of OSU, PSU, Mich, MSU and a bottom 3 of MD, Rut, Indy.

OSU, PSU, Mich, and Iowa all turned in impressive performances that on a normal weekend would be enough to jump them to #1, but only one can be #1.  The teams in the top 5 are pretty clear in my mind, although the order of the top 4 can be debated big time.

1. OSU - I was all set to jump Iowa over OSU after Friday night, then OSU goes and annihilated what I thought was a decent Rutgers team.

2.  Iowa -  wow 51-14 over what I thought was a decent MD team.  As usual Iowa's defense, turnovers, and penalties made the difference but Iowa's offense showed some life trying some different things.  The true test comes next against PSU.

3.  PSU -  wow 24-0 over what I thought was a decent Indy team.  Next week we can settle the Iowa-PSU debate on the field.

4.  Mich -  normally a dominating victory over Wiscy would be enough to jump to #3 or better.  All I can say is just keep winning and #1 will come soon enough.

5.  MSU -  got off to great start against WKU and then went into a shell in 2nd half.  MSU tests against the big boys are coming up, we will find out soon just how good MSU really is.

6.  Neb - Wow 59-7 over a bad NW team.  In hindsight, the only thing separating Neb from MSU is bad special teams plays.

7.  Wisc - I was ready to drop Wiscy lower but everybody below them had their own clunkers.  Wisc has got to figure it out on offense.
8.  Minn - the BigTen's mystery team.  What to make of those Jekyll and Hyde performances.  Idk,  I am putting them right in the middle.
9.  Rut - Sorry, Rutgers is not ready yet to join the big boys.
10.  MD - had some bad luck against Iowa but once again I saw signs that MD is a badly coached team.  Too many flags on both sides killing MD's drives and keeping Iowa's drives alive.  Lack of adjustments both on offense and defense.  Iowa could have run the TE bootleg against MD defense all night long.
11.  Ind - this team simply has no offense this year.  I don't know why it disapeared.
12.  Pur -  I keep expecting Purdue to get better.  But I am still waiting.
13.  ILL -  keeps it streak alive of playing awful in non-confeence games, but at least they won.
14.  NW - no doubt in my mind NW is now the worst team in the conference.  I guess for NW its -  Even numbered years good - Odd numbered years awful.

1) Iowa - maybe MD is bad, but that was an impressive performance against anyone.

2) Penn State - nice shutout win.  This is a very good team.

3) Ohio State - If Stroud plays like that going forward, they are moving up.

4) Michigan - McNamara had a great game.  Expected a win, but not a blowout

5) Michigan State - Keep rolling.

6) Nebraska - They have looked good lately.  I think they are going to overcome the Illinois loss and go bowling

7) Minnesota - Grinded one out.  Really don't know what to expect week to week.

8) Wisconsin - Probably can't move them lower, but severely disappointing.

9) Maryland - Lost a key playmaker and fell apart.  Is it one game, or are they gonna give up on the season.

10) Rutgers - Overmatched and the trick plays didn't work this time.

11) Purdue - Has some potential, but not a complete team.  Hard to say how they'll do going forward.

12) Indiana - Time to throw them in the trash.

13) Illinois - Charlotte is actually a decent win.

14) Northwestern - It's grumpy Fitz time.
