1.      Michigan (Defending champs)
2.      Penn State (Played very well, and moved up two spots)
3.      Wisconsin (Best rushing raid attack in college football)
4.      Ohio State (Mysteriously struggled on offense; defense is their game)
5.      Iowa (Excellent on defense, Excellent on special teams, Modest improvement on offense, QB injury situation-tenuous)
6.      Maryland (Looked good)
7.      Minnesota (A win is a win over a fellow Big Ten team)
8.      Michigan State
9.      Illinois (Lucky as a lark)
10.  Nebraska (Looked good defensively - if the defense holds up this week, watch out - it won't)
11.  Purdue (11 and 12 are just about interchangeable)
12.  Rutgers
13.  Indiana
14.  Northwestern

add TX and OU to the SEC this year. add the 4 PAC teams to the B1G this year.

which conference would be the best? I think it'd be the B1G. obviously this is a stupid hypothetical and this isn't going to happen til next year and that's gonna change cause lots of these starting QBs on these B1G/PAC teams will be gone next year- but if these moves had been pulled off just a year earlier- B1G woulda be insane this year.

TEX, OK, USC, Wash, Ore all ranked in top 25.  UCLA just on the outside at #27

Big Ten would have 7 teams in top 25, plus 2 more at #26 and #27

SEC would have 8 team in top 25.

,But Big Ten VS. SEC has the same perception problem Big Ten West VS. Big Ten East does.  They never win the championship game.

  • Michigan: Running game not looking as ferocious as last year, but still very solid, and McCarthy is an ace. Defense still quite good.
  • Penn State: Allar looked really strong, which was their biggest question mark.
  • Ohio State: Running game and oline was in fits and starts. QB looked good, defense looked good. 2021 but with a defense?
  • Wisconsin: Kind of by default, but running game is still on point.
  • Iowa: They play defense, which is more than you can say about some teams.
  • Maryland: Hard to trust this team, but they have some guys.
  • Illinois: I guess? Toledo isn't garbage.
  • Michigan State: Honestly, a pretty good win considering what everyone else did.
  • Minnesota: Lowkey team chaos, hard to say what you are getting week in and week out.
  • Nebraska: Playing some sound defense at least.
  • Indiana: Think their offense is DOA, but they looked spry defensively.
  • Rutgers: Hey, tied for first place.
  • Purdue: No idea what they are right now. Glad to see them competitive with so much turnover.
  • Northwestern: Crashing through the bottom at light speed.
