IU/UMD may well be for a spot in the CG

The Wildcats have Michigan St, Minnesota and Illinois down the stretch.

They'll probably lose one of the three because, well, Northwestern.

1-2 is less likely obviously, but again, Northwestern.

They certainly couldn't possibly lose all three of their final games.... could they?

One of the three is lost. But, it is unlikely Minnesota v. NU will be played as Minnesota now has 40 positive virus cases.
Illinois v. NU is a "rivalry game."
NU is the likely winner of the Western Division, and if they don't have an outbreak will play Indiana, or Ohio State, or Maryland, Michigan, or Michigan State in the championship game, depending on who stays healthy.
I am guessing Indiana is the East Division entrant in the championship game.

Weird because OSU is a NC contender, while the rest of the Conference is just a beefed up version of the MAC; a bunch of teams that are even worse than Indiana and Northwestern.

Indiana was one-score from OSU, so I wouldn't consider Indiana part of a beefed up version of the MAC. But, "weird" is a good description of the 2020 season.

not sure about the other 12 teams

If you have seen any detailed, expert film breakdown of Indiana, it is very clear that they are a very high quality football team with an extremely good scheme and execution on both sides of the ball.
Of course a lot of that will depend on if their quarterback is out for an extended period of time because he has proven that he can deliver accurate missiles with guys hanging off of him.

They are quite good relative to the rest of the Conference. No doubt about that.

you just wait until the Hoosiers get a matchup with a high level SEC team in a bowl game!

What happens if OSU doesn't play enough games to make the CG?

Indiana - NW?

Yes. That will no doubt go really well for them, since they are such a powerhouse this year.

Indiana could at least compete with Georgia, I think, and likely win.  I don't know about Florida as much, the Gators can score in bunches.

A&M?  Maybe.

Bama?  Nope.
