Runners Up (2nd place finish):
1939 Michigan RB Tom Harmon (I'm pretty sure he's here, as he finished behind Kinnick)
1947 Michigan RB Tom Harmon, eligibility rules were pretty loose for UM, no?
1953 Minnesota RB Paul Giel
1957 Iowa DL Alex Karras (process of elimination, I knew he finished 2nd, no idea when)
1958 Iowa QB no idea
1960 Minnesota OL no idea, suspect he's a HOF type OL though.
1961 Ohio St RB Cassaday (no, he won in the mid 50s, thanks to the clue below)
1966 Purdue QB Griese
1968 Purdue RB No idea
1969 Purdue QB Griese (gotta be right somewhere in here)
1973 Ohio St OL thanks to 70s page, John Hicks
1984 Ohio St RB Keith Byars
1985 Iowa QB Chuck Long
1989 Indiana RB Anthony Thompson
1994 Penn St RB Kijana Carter
2002 Iowa QB Brad Banks (I was stuck on this for about ten minutes)
2014 Wisconsin RB M Gordon
In the Hole (3rd place finish):
1940 Minnesota RB no idea
1943 Northwestern QB Otto Graham, he's the only Northwestern star player I can think of from (1900-1993)
1952 Minnesota RB Paul Giel (process of elimination)
1954 Ohio St RB (future winner), clue gives it away (Cassady (sp))
1957 Michigan St RB, no idea
1962 Minnesota OL no idea
1963 Michigan St RB, no idea (I just realized, I can't think of any offensive stars on MSU pre '70)
1964 Illinois C/LB, Butkus (my podiatrist years ago was his roommate, of course he had a picture of him in his office.)
1965 Illinois WR no idea (see above comment on MSU offensive stars, sans Grange)
1967 Purdue RB figured ten years living in Indy would help me on this...no.
1969 Ohio St QB could it be Rich or Rick Kern. I know its Kern, don't know his first name.
1976 Michigan RB, I already failed at this one.
1978 Michigan QB, got help on this one from 70s thread, Rick Leach.
1986 Michigan QB, Harbaugh
2000 Purdue QB, Brees
2002 Penn St RB, LJ
Man, this is a good mental exercise. I realized how little I know about MSU, Illinois, NW, Purdue, Iowa elite historical players (and Indiana for that matter, even though they rarely sniff Heisman territory).
