Purdue vs. LSU in the Citrus.

I thought they showed well in the B1GCG against Michigan.

Starting this thread to keep a running bookmark of updates, opt-outs, etc.

Will be the first meeting between the two teams, apparently.

Neat.

The Fighting Drew Brees' vs. The Brees-Proximity Squad

I assume the winner of this game gets permanent custody of #good QB Danny Etling*

*"Danny Etling is a good QB" is a reference most outside Baton Rouge probably wouldn't get

I try to stay away from most things inside Baton Rouge.

Other than the food, of course.

bwar is a boiler but he hasn't been around this season.

WR Boutte announced his return, so I assume he won't be sitting out the bowl.  That's good for us, I guess.

Line is currently lsu -6.5 to -8 depending on where I look.

I don't know much about Purdue other than what I saw in the Big Ten CG.

I feel like any team with a full scholarship roster has an advantage over us.  Depth is such a big part of the game and we just don't have it.

If O'Connell can throw, we don't have a very good secondary.  We've been good against the run, unless they can't stay off the field in which case they wear down in second halves.

Purdue just lost it's coach to Louisville. Wonder if Purdue's star WR Charlie Jones sits this one out and preps for the NFL Draft.

I know that Jones had accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, so it would seem odd to play in that one and then sit out the bowl game.

Granted, who knows what happens after today.

That's a lot kinder, like a glorified Pro Bowl.  Plus you work with NFL coaches the whole week in practice (which is more important than the game)

kinda feel bad for Purdue, think Brohm was the best coach they’ve had in a minnnnute. I really think he might actually be underrated as a coach. Some of those plays he was calling vs Michigan were hellaciously awesome. Dude is a demon play caller.

If he starts getting elite players at Louisville- which I think he will given the NIL program they have and some of the guys they have in the ‘23 class- gonna be fun to watch. Right now Louisville has 5* #1 RB and 4* top 100 player at WR and a 4* top 247 QB. Brohm gets guys like that every class they’re gonna be fun to watch play offense.

I hated how Joel Klatt (who still always sucks at his job) kept saying Purdue had nothing to lose, when they'd call a play.  No.  Purdue was playing for a Rose Bowl vs. the who gives a F*** Bowl.

If anything Michigan had nothing to lose.  As TCU proved, Michigan would have still been #2, win or lose.  It's a stupid cliché that announcers who are bad at their job overuse

The cliche that is really getting old these days, and every talking head/jabber jock/announcer does it as a cheap Segway to the point that they were trying to make once they realize that they are just rambling, they'll hit you with a "At the end of the day..." then they finally cut to the chase. Some of them will even say it multiple times in the same segment.

They need to invent a thesaurus for overused phrases.
