And the Gophers Will Surround the Lion (SOC 11/9/19)
« on: November 09, 2019, 06:21:51 AM »
Winter has arrived in Columbus.  It's 26 degrees and the heat is running and the dogs are cold.  More importantly, my wife is working and I have the girls.  One of their little friend's has a birthday party at 1 pm.  This travesty shall not stand.

It is arriving here as well, it's already chilly, but we're headed to a hard freeze shortly, low of 23°F on Tuesday.  I think our lowest last winter was 22°F.

I'm not used to this any more.  Looking forward to the Minny game, I'm quite interested but not hopeful.  I wonder if the Gophers won how far they would move up.  They are ranked low because "they haven't played anyone", so if they beat "someone", would that move them into the top 5?  Nope.

Finally back on the grass at the East River Flats. 30 degrees here in MSP, and looks to be quite nice today.

Will they cancel the game if the T is below 40°F?

It's all about the team up in the Twin Cities. Yup.

I'm waiting for an SEC team to be dispatched to the Hoth system in late November.

That said we've had all kinds of weather at November games since moving outside. Anything from 50 and sunny to 15 and super windy and snowy.

In the 20s here in WV as well. Supposed to get into the 40s by the afternoon. I have nothing planned but watching football all day. We are in that small window where softball is done and basketball hasn’t started yet. Gonna watch as much Penn St-Minnesota as I can but WVU-Texas Tech gets my attention in the noon slot.

Then I’ll settle in LSU-Bama and whatever I can flip to through the afternoon and evening.  Heading out to get some wings to throw in the smoker.

Actually, the only real snow game that's been at the New Brickhouse so far was the Monday night Vikings game in 2010, after the roof of the Metrodome fell in. That was a ton of fun, even though the Vikings got crushed and it ended up being Brett Favre's last game.

We somehow have a symphony tonight at 8 PM.  The wife wants to go even though her surgery is Tuesday (we have to be at the hospital at 5 AM, half hour drive).

She can barely walk, so I will drive and park at the symphony about four blocks from us.  We do have a HDCP thing now.  I hate how those get abused, I'm not going to use it when it's just me driving.

So, I'll miss the Dawgs' game with Mizzou.  Ten PM temperature is predicted to be 41°F here.  MIzzou had a real chance this year to do what Baylor and Minny did, but instead they are 5-3.

I am still putting off turning on the heat, and my roommate isn’t in town to correct the behavior. I need to get up and go running God I don’t wanna get out of bed.

This is pretty much my viewing template as well, save for sticking to the Penn St Minnesota game. Driving up the road to my brother’s. I don’t know if he’s grilling or ordering pizza again. Hopefully we open some windows because it’s Southern California with temps not lowering below 60.

High of 87 expected here today.

I'll admit that's a little warm for my liking in November. Reverse it to 78 and it'd really start feeling like fall :57:

Where in SoCal are you? With the username I think I always just assumed you were in AZ...

Correct I have a former coworker friend that went out on disability - back/neck.He seemed much more distressed at work but drives around and gets in/out of his truck with a lift kit no problem. But he pulls that parking card for convienence all the time.Another friend has the HDCP Card also but only uses it when he drives his son around who's had heart surgery
Suburbia:Where they tear out the trees & then name streets after them.
