I wonder if anyone guessed anywhere close to that Bama-LSU score.  I probably would have guessed around 27-24.

The rankings will be interesting.  Minny certainly showed they are not a schedule team, a team that is only 8-0 because of schedule.  I wouldn't drop Penn State all that far, but do they have to be behind Minny?
We'll see how much Minnesota's helmet keeps them from the 'in' crowd of undefeateds.  The herd mentality would be to put them one spot ahead of Penn State, but the helmetocity of the two is so diverse, it makes you wonder.  And it'll be interesting to see if the 2-loss Florida and Auburn teams stay ahead of the Gophers.

Laziness and herd mentality are strong...but helmet (or lack thereof) may be stronger.

I'm not sure how I'd rank teams today even if I put a ton of thought into it.  PSU went on the road and played a "tough" opponent close at the end.  UGA lost at home to a pretty bad team in 2 OT.  Then you figure UGA has a couple nice wins, PSU has one.

It would be remarkable for a team to jump from 17th to say 8th, but they might (Minny), 9-0 is a something these days.  Baylor has no nice wins at this point.

A big jump makes sense for a team that’s passed its first real test, no?

yes, a big jump

I could easily see them winning two of their last 3

Beating Iowa is always satisfying.

I'm getting somewhat resigned to 9-3, considering how good Minnesota's offense is. To some UW fans that's probably a disappointment, but I don't know this Badgers team has the playmakers to be as good at it seemed at the start.

Yep, some of that heard mentality coming into play.

They're season is so interesting. It's four games of playing super even with not that good teams. Then four games of beating backup QBs senseless and running over so-so to bad teams. Then this.

And based on standard poll logic and the tendency to react to the moment, this puts the legitimate sheen on all that.

Fire everyone.  Second game this year we are going to lose because we surrendered a 4th and 16 in the final two minutes.  The defense isn't worth crap
Looking at the highlights, they seemed to pick on the one CB with the WR with 15 letters in his name.  And I'd put the loss on Lewerke, based on what I saw.  First, he got lucky his failure to recover the bad snap-fumble didn't cost them, and then that last INT was atrocious.  It feels like he's been your QB for 6 years now, and he's making that mistake late in a game?

UGA still relies on defense, at least against poor offenses.

It's been over 24 hours, and I don't think it's sunk in yet. I mean, every time the Gophers have been in a spot to do something like that in my lifetime, they've been unable to come through. Until they did. It's very surreal.

I completely screamed my voice out. Whatever little was left before the final interception was gone shortly thereafter. I still sound like ten miles of bad road. I wasn't crying, but there were a lot of happy tears being shed. The crowd was as good of a crowd as I've ever seen at a game.

No rest for the wicked, though. Gophers haven't won at Mordor since 1999, and I'll not believe the Badgers are out of it until the clock reads 0 and the crowd is back on the field parading the Axe around.

What a day.

Also, the New Brickhouse only seats 51,000 and change, but that place was LOUD AF yesterday. I couldn't hear myself for much of the proceedings.

That’s awesome.  I like it when long suffering fans are rewarded.  Enjoy it.

Very glad to hear the stadiette was rocking. Maybe PJ Barnum can get the powers who be to expand it to the 80K that it's ready for. :)

I kid. Lori and I are really happy for the Goophers. Heh. :)
