#10 Florida State is off this week as they prepare for a big showdown with (checks notes) Kent State, LoL.  The rest of the top-25 are in action but from the look of the spreads, it appears that most of them are basically scrimmaging.

There are three ranked vs ranked games and each is interesting:
#5 Miami, FL -17.5 vs South Florida:
South Florida already has wins over Boise and the Gators so a win here would put them at 3-0 in three-straight games against (then) ranked teams.  This might be tougher for the Hurricanes than it seems.

#6 Georgia -3.5 at #15 Tennessee:
With Florida apparently in a spiral this could be crucial for winning the SEC-E (checks notes) Nevermind, there isn't an SEC-E anymore.  Oh well, in any case this could wind up determining either a CFP bid or an SECCG bid or both.

#8 Notre Dame -6.5 vs #16 aTm:
At present there are only two ranked teams on Notre Dame's 12-game schedule.  One is Miami and Notre Dame already lost that game in South Florida and the other is this game.  That makes this game pretty important for the Irish' CFP hopes.  A Notre Dame that goes 0-2 against ranked teams and 10-0 against unranked teams might not get in.  Furthermore, a loss here would almost certainly eliminate Notre Dame's room for error as a 9-3 team against this schedule is almost certainly out.  For the Aggies I think this is more about room for error.  After this they have five more games against currently ranked teams (vs #24 Auburn on 9/27, at #3 LSU on 10/25, at #25 Mizzou on 11/8, vs #11 USCe on 11/15, and at #7 TX on 11/28).  They obviously can't make the playoffs at 6-6 so they are going to have to win some of those.

The line on the UGA-Tenn game closed from 6.5 to 3.5, which is close to "pick'em".  UGA didn't look good last week on offense.

New QB ib hostile environs etc.

I watched five minutes of the Deacs' game and switch over to watching a tank show on youtube.

One of my desires is to visit the tank museum in Bovington, and the on in Columbus, GA.
Bovington is great. Went there three-ish years ago. Fantastic collection. Would enjoy going for Tankfest, where they drive a lot of the old guys, but that wasn't in the cards.

There's a place outside of San Antonio where they have real tanks that you can drive and shoot the main guns, as well as other heavy weaponry.  A pretty wealthy friend of mine took his very wealthy father there for his birthday a few years back, one of those, "what do you buy the man who has everything?  Time in a tank blowing up stuff" kind of deals.

Was watching Antiques Road Show quite a few yrs back and some guy had brought in a cannon/howitzer from I think the Civil War.Forget the story how it came into his possession.Rafael Eledge (real cool southern gent)critiqued it, he's their Civil War and 19th-century militaria memorabilia expert.

He did his History spiel and at the end of the show some other expert - they obviously took it off set cleaned the bore loaded and shot it.There were like 4 of them you could almost feel the concussion thru the TV.I don't often use the term really awesome but it was. One of the 4 blurted out "ya can't do that with a Tiffany Lamp"
"It is better to have died a young boy than to fumble the football" - John Heisman

Tickets for tonight's UCLA game are $2 right now. They should just give them away and write off the loss. What a joke of a program.

Dang. I'd almost consider going.

Unfortunately, it's 2 PM on a Friday. If I leave Mission Viejo right now, Google Maps says I'll arrive at the Rose Bowl mid-afternoon on Tuesday.

Google is overly optimistic.
