Jack Tuttle = QB1.
I remember when he was a silent verbal to Wisconsin like 14 years ago.

When was the last time this many in the top eleven lost, often to unranked teams?

I recall various "Upset Saturdays" in the past, but not quite to this extent.  #25 and #22 also lost, and #8 barely won.

The rankings will be amusing.

I know nobody likes the portal and the NIL stuff- but maybe because of it we are starting to see some parity in a sport that had absolutely none for 80+ years? and parity is a good thing in sports. very good thing.

which is why Saint Nick left Bama. he knew he couldn't just load up his roster better than the other teams via 'crootin and bag men and keep said roster wholly intact anymore. he knew there was nothing he could do about it and it was a fact of life that he was going to lose guys to the portal and NIL and not have the massive roster advantage in every single game he played anymore.

This is a thing. Big schools can pay more, but players are motivated to play, too, so they don't need to sit around and wait for a spot to open up. Plus every team has the capability to fill trouble spots, so every team is improved.

after his last two drives in the 4th QTR....you can have him back.

I'm fully in burn Jadyn Davis redshirt mode. Oh and put a bullet in Kirk Campbell's ass and fire him by tonight. Get a temp OC and call a firm to help start a nation wide search now for a new one.

Bama wins that game 99 times out of 100, it's not in my view some mark of parity, or near parity.

Vandy probably is a bit better than in the recent past, but they will still end up 4-8 or somesuch.

Bama was losing for the vast majority of that game....

Bama's defense looks like absolute dog shit two weeks in a row now. Hard for me to say they win any game 99 times out of 100 with a defense that shit-tack-ular.

My guess is Bama ends up 10-2, and Vandy 4-8.  They are not remotely at the same talent level.  Maybe NIL leads to more parity down the road, it's possible, but this isn't a good example in my view.  I think the portal (which is connected) is of more value to "lesser teams".

A down and out program can potentially get better players pretty quickly now as opposed to recruiting and still having a very young team at best.

But Vandy has nowhere near the talent of a Bama.

that is not my point nor did I claim it was.

my point was that Bama has nowhere near the talent level and depth it USED to always have and that's because: portal/NIL.

There are HS kids that Bama would've signed in the past that went elsewhere because of NIL (Miami and Tennessee have a few of 'em that I can think of) and then there are kids that would've had no choice but to stay at Bama or lose a year of eligibility- that now bounce and hit the portal because they want more playing time or they want to play in a different scheme.

You think Isaiah Bond + Ryan Williams would coverable? Cause I don't.

Every season, there’s teams that have a surprise shit the bed moment. Bama losing to Vandy is this years. I don’t know how that proves a ton of talent is leaving Bama for NIL money because they just beat Georgia the week before. If anything, this is a hangover moment. I’m personally one hoping for parity, but the big boys that were secretly spending the most behind the scenes are going to be the ones legally spending now imo. That will lead to more of the same.

It's not that the big teams won't still be good, it's that it's more the Yankees v. the Reds now as opposed to the Yankees v. the Albuquerque Isotopes
