It feels like Tennessee has only a couple of paths to win this one. They will either need to turn it into a mud fight and make a couple of plays, or maybe have that young quarterback suddenly come into his own and match his talent.

it feels like Ohio State has more paths, but I feel like their quarterback is just not excellent enough to make me feel truly comfortable.
Ever heard of Dyllan Sampson?

I expect Ohio State to win at home by a comfortable two scores, but not to run away with the thing.
Looks like most of the predictions for the Michigan Game

Nico hasn't had to be "born under fire" as Sampson bailed them out carrying the load- when he was required, sans arky, he's produced. Bama was locked up both sides of ball and Okey had no real shot.  Uga is only team that handled them with ease and save a few breaks and questionable calls, they were in that game.

The comment about stats against patsies: nico and Sampson both were pulled after second quarter in every trouncing- his stats are for 2 quarters or even a full quarter and half another.

This isn't to say they're setting world on fire, but is to say the stats and casual looks skews a dang solid team- and one elite as tOSU insofar as "team" yet without the 5stars on the roster that gives tOSU all this confidence they may not rate.. which isnt meant to berate tOSU.

IN MY OPINION these teams are evenly matched as any game that is or could/can be in this playoff.

I don’t know.   They may have been evenly matched a few months back.

Not so much now. UT has a great D-line, and maybe the most depth there of anyone.   We already saw what OSU’s patchwork injury riddled line is about. Not pretty.

Yeah OSU can't block a good front, which I assume Tennessee has

It’s excellent.  And 7-8 deep.

Gonna have to mute the sound, no way in Hell am I listening to Rocky Top as much as I suspect it will be played. HB's right that turnstile of what was a decent line could bring down the curtain on the Ryan Day Show in C-Bus. So this Game might just work out all right after all 🤬

Day can't Beat TTUN
Day Can't win a Bowl Game
Day can't beat the SEC

Like why are we even playing the game. Just give the Vols the W, and we all can move on with our lives.

i smell sarcasm?

i DON'T think UT will roll tOSU... i think they're a damn worthy opponent, though and from either vantage, and, i think whoever wins this game will be valid competition for Oregon, and whoever wins that game will be absolutely validated as worthy of the following games- to the point, whoever wins the game following this one should be ranked #3 at a minimum, if not #2- or obviously #1 if this bracket wins out.

8 PM start for this game.  I'm guessing that the temperatures will be in the 20s by halftime.

OSU is favored for a reason.  Historically, that means the favorite wins about 2/3rds of the time.

Maybe running the ball and having fewer TOs might be a factor ....

Knoxville gets cold as well, probably not as cold usually, but it would be 30°F there that night, usually, or close to it.

Sometimes they get a warm wet front of course.
