(9) Tennessee (+6.5) at (8) Ohio State -- Saturday, Dec. 21 (8 p.m. ET): After losing to Michigan, Ohio State fell out of Big Ten title contention and down to the 8-seed. Their gift in the first round at Ohio Stadium will be Tennessee, a team with a powerful defense and limited offense. The Buckeyes have far better skill talent and a comparably good defense, but the offensive line will have to step up to the challenge. Tennessee won the lone matchup between these two teams in 1996.

This game is most likely to see an upset, I think (which could mean Clemson beats Texas).  The Vols are a reasonably capable team, being on the road is obviously not to their taste, but I wonder if Ohio Stadium will be that loud for this one.  It gets cold in Knoxville, so that probably won't be a factor.  Ohio State looks pretty good at times and then not so much later, but they did play the #1 team to the wire on the road, so they also are capable.

I kinda hope it snows/sleets/rains that day and the field is a mud pit.  Do they have grass?  I think they replaced it.

Maybe the Vols can come with some really special shoes with special cleats.

To me, this game is all about Ohio State's psyche.

I think that the Buckeyes are (or at least can be) a much better team but how will they respond to the loss to Michigan.  This season was all about THAT and they failed.  So now are they done or ready to go on?

OMG, don't say that on any tOSU sites.  A substantial portion of the tOSU fanbase still refers to the Vols as "Tennecheat" due to their illegal footwear in a game played more than a quarter-century ago.

Personally I don't see this game being close. I think Tennessee's offense is mediocre and defense isn't good enough to shut down the Buckeyes, unless Ryan Day decides to run up the middle over and over again. Hopefully he learned his lesson and hopefully the OSU o-line does it's job. And hopefully they take 7-10 yard outs off the playbook with Howard. Make him throw downfield to Smith and Egbuka and they'll be fine.

Done, hopefully.  LOL

I expect a slobber knocker.  OSU definitely has the edge in talent, and all the intangibles in their favor, sans the psyche part you mentioned.

I expect the Buckeyes to get their heads right, and win by close to the spread.
