Bucks get Dremont Jones back from injury and Michael Hill back from suspension.  They had been playing DE's in the middle for a couple weeks.

BTW Nebraska fans, does Mike Riley need a win here to keep his job?  I was listening to a Nebraska podcast that seemed to think they should just keep him because there weren't any realistic options.  They mentioned Scott Frost but didn't think he would come.

Well last year OSU blew out both Oklahoma and Nebraska while they were each ranked in the top ten.

The Buckeyes've already been destroyed by a far worse Oklahoma team that lost to Iowa St and almost lost to Baylor.

So it stands to reason that Nebraska would be in a strong position to do the exact same thing as Oklahoma did.

Generally speaking, teams don't usually look so good the week after they play UW. I went against that line of thinking last week and it bit me.

OSU romps in this one.
I've see this too. You have to wonder how physically beat up Nebby is? And after hanging with Wisky for 2 and half quarters to get crushed how beat up they are mentally?

Haven't got to watch much of Nebraska this year.  The thing that sticks out from the stats is Tanner Lee having 10 picks in 6 games.  None of his other stats are all that good, but they throw a lot.  It looks like Nebraska is constantly chucking it, with poor success.  This is a bad recipe against OSU.  Nebraska needs to try and establish the run game and keep Lee from having to drop back and throw 50 times.

Hmmm, I'd argue that throwing it is the way to beat OSU. See Indiana and OU.
I thought Maryland would give a better game since they had that big wide out; but they didn't throw to him and get whipped.

Indiana had a good game plan of getting quick throws to their giant wideouts within 2 seconds.  OSU came out in man and had to adjust as the game went on.  Oklahoma presented a different problem, as OSU made a conscious effort to keep Mayfield in the pocket.  However, the back seven did not respond well to the RPO's and other looks.
Neebraska doesn't have a mobile QB or giant NFL receivers, so I don't think they can duplicate those looks.  If they just try to drop back and OSU can tee off on the QB, I don't think it will end well for Nebraska.

This does not stand to reason.

after the Northern Illinois loss I guessed that Riley needed to win the west to keep his job.  After losing to the Badgers, the only way he can accomplish this is to upset the Bucks.
all really depends on the new AD and the options for Riley's replacement

I'm leaving for Lincoln in an hour, first to the golf course there, then to Buzzard Billy's in the Haymarket near campus for food and drink with a large group.  Stop by if you're in town Buck fans.  Well, Husker fans too.  Perhaps Rabid Rattlesnake Boy will appear.....

Sharkwater party starts tomorrow morning rain or shine

forecast for Saturday and kickoff look crappy

maybe I can get a good ticket for $20

Too many Buckeyes will be there for tickets prices to drop that low.
