4 replies? I guess that sums up Buckeye nation's feelings to the start of the season.
well, this game was predictably boring. However, I have 2 things I loved.
1) JK Dobbins is for real, and in this game I don't mind that he only got 13 carries, no reason to get him killed in a non BIG game.
2) Tuf Borland, whoa, what a game. Now, with no threat of a passing attack maybe that contributed, but...., considering what I've seen from the other LB's so far this season, maybe it's time Borland gets a better look at some playing time.
3) I know it was garbage time, but Haskins looked really comfortable running the offense, and he could have easily stuck the TD in the end zone his one drive if Urban didn't call off the dogs. Which I'm guessing he did because we played a military academy, he normally doesn't do that. Plus, all of Haskins passes were actually going forward, not sidewise.
Things that were disappointing.
1) The is the first time I'm going to rip into the D line some, and I know it's an option attack, but I wasn't overly impressed with how they fared. By some miracle if we beat Penn St and UM and don't choke away another game somewhere, I'd be very afraid to face the Wisconsin run game. This D line I think can pass rush with the best of them, but I'm not so convinced that it was handle a diverse team, or a great rushing team.
2) Can we put the limit on sideline passes to I dunno, um ZERO! If you are going to throw the freaking football 20 yards to the sideline, to WR's that are just ok blocking at this point, why not just hand the dang thing off to Dobbins, Weber or Williams whom I also feel has played well. This is not going to work against good teams, and it's just begging for a pick six or catch and fumble.
3) JT continues to stare down WR's. I hate to nit pick what was a very solid game for him, but I'm guessing he's a one read option at this point in his career due to lack of confidence.
4) would it kill anyone to run a RB or TE screen play once per game?
