Franklin actually fired Ciarrocca after just one year to get the guy. It's not that Ciarrocca was a bad coach, just that Yurcich is THAT good.

I'm doing pretty well. Only got sucked into the "Michigan has just as tough a schedule as Penn State" thing.

Some observations on this, my thoughts:

I think this game is a toss-up. Either team can win. Even if you feel that tOSU or PSU is better, I think we would pretty much all agree that the weaker team isn't THAT much weaker and could win either by having a great day or by the stronger team having a bad day.
Irrespective of who wins on Saturday, Michigan *appears* to be the strongest of the three.
Because of #2, the winner (either way) should still be concerned about their upcoming game against Michigan.
It is HIGHLY unlikely that Michigan could win the three-way tiebreaker in the event that tOSU/PSU/M all go 11-1. Either tOSU or PSU would win that. Therefore, the loser of this game has to hope that in the event that they lose to Michigan, the team that just lost to them in this game needs to beat Michigan.
The downside here is potentially severe. The third-highest ranked team in the Pac is #12 OrSU and they are still very much in the PAC race. The third-highest ranked team in the SEC is #13, second in the SEC-W, and very much in the SEC race. The third highest-ranked team in the ACC is #16 Dook. The third-highest ranked team in the B12 is unranked. The loser of this game is probably a top-10 team and yet probably the third best team in their own division.

I remember a few years ago the PSU players said that the Michigan defense was calling out PSU's offensive plays before they happened.

At the time I just figured maybe PSU's offense was getting predictable. But now....
