Michigan State (0-3, 2-4) at Rutgers (2-2, 5-2) Post Game
« on: October 11, 2023, 07:37:19 PM »
MSU has actually outgained every opponent other than Washington.  But turnovers, penalties and the punting game have killed them.

Coming out of the bye week, I'd be shocked if Kim is still the starter.  Granted it's been once the game is out of hand, but the team has looked better with Houser.  Kim looks like the prototypical QB in shorts.  Arm strength is great, decent speed.  But man, he just doesn't have it on Saturday.

Not to mention, he is a 4th year, 3* recruit, and Houser is a 2nd year, 4* recruit, so if you are worried about who will get poached, assuming you are looking to the future already, as you should.

Rutgers is favored by 4.5, and FPI gives them a 63.2% chance to win.  Weather could be an issue, with thunderstorms in the area all afternoon in NJ

I think Rutgers *should* win at home on paper. Who knows though?

IMHO, this game is a lot more important for Rutgers than you might think.

The Scarlett Knights are 4-2/1-2 and *should* win this game and next week in Bloomington to move to 6-2/3-2 ahead of their bye week.

They need to because the games remaining after their bye week are:

  • Vs #3 tOSU
  • At Iowa
  • At #6 PSU
  • Vs UMD

As long as they beat MSU and IU they'll go bowling but if they lose one of those they'll need an upset to achieve Bowl eligibility.

MSU's win probability hit 98.4% in the 4th quarter.

The flip side, is apparently everyone is aligned to make Urban Meyer happen now.  I never gave that any shot, but I would give it like a 20% shot now, and to be honest, whatever

Given URBZ history of not really being as up front as he seems 😍🤐 that could turn dicey . Specially the last one where he is all over some Tavern Tart after telling his team he wouldn't be joining them as he wanted to go see the Grand kids :D. The dumb shit got busted in his own ale house by the house camera's. I mean who does that? And who turned that tape over?

Well good luck but given CFBs and society's ever shifting mores maybe it could happen. But between Mel tugging and Urban groping not sure that's the moral/educational foundation one would look for in a canidate
