I tend to think Ohio State is going to blow Michigan State out- but Sparty is a weird team- they always knock off teams they have no business knocking off every year- and this one is at home.

I THINK Ohio State is the best team in the country- and they've been doing this without JSN- which is kinda scary- but I also feel like as much as people bag on Michigan's schedule- OSU has played NO ONE. Notre Dame and Wisconsin flat out suck- Notre Dame lost at home to freaking Marshall and got pushed to the absolute wire at home by a pretty crappy Cal team. Wisconsin lost at home to freaking Wazzu State and got blown out at at home by freaking Illinois and just fired their coach- so yeah. Maryland is A LOT better than people realize this year imo and while Iowa's offense is complete and utter ass- they do have rock solid special teams, a VERY good defense and that was JJ's first ever road start in a TOUGH ass place to play- Kinnick is a MOTHERF*KER to play at- and that game was 27-7 with about 30 seconds left before Iowa scored a garbage time TD vs a prevent defense against Michigan's back-ups.

SO just sayin'. While I do think OSU is legit af this year- they haven't really played anyone. This COULD wind up being closer than any of us think. I really don't know just how good Ohio State is. At least Michigan has faced a legit offense (Maryland) and a legit defense (Iowa). Ohio State has faced nothing so far.
Meh.  Playing the “ who have they played “
game is a rabbit hole.

you have to use the eye test.  ( which to your credit- you are)

you “think” Maryland is good.  Who have THEY actually beaten?

You talk about Iowa’s defense- but who have they beat? And how much of their defensive stats are due to their time consuming style on offense?

You think ND is bad because they lost to Marshall- but they lost their starting QB- the one OSU faced.  Then they went on the road and beat a pretty decent NC team that would probably be favored over Iowa and Maryland.

Toledo and Arkansas state would be heavily over
Michigan’s first 3 opponents.

These teams just have to find a way to win.  But it literally give close to Zero predictability for prognosticating when you over focus on who they played or margin of victory.

This from CBS Sports
The Buckeyes are favored by nearly four touchdowns. The last time Michigan State was as big of an underdog was 1998 when the Spartans, coached by Nick Saban, defeated the top-ranked Buckeyes at Columbus, Ohio.Mel Tucker, a graduate assistant for Saban then, and later an Ohio State assistant coach (2001-04), knows what is needed for an upset.

No Miyan Williams today- leading rusher.  Out with injury.

No word on Henderson- he didn’t play last week.  Down to a freshmen and walk on perhaps.  No Smith-Njigba again.

That is no excuse- MSU DECIMATED by injuries already.

Buckeye beat down of Michigan State was worse than the score indicates.  But at least the Spartans left the game with their dignity?
