Can't recall this game ever being more blah.  Maybe 2012, but after 4 straight losses, a mid-UM actually sort of cared this year.  I've heard a couple MSU fans say they hope to lose, because they don't want a meaningless win to save Johnathan Smith.

This used to be a game you could count on MSU playing over their head.  It's been a while since that was true.  2017 is probably the lone example in the last 25 years.  Over the past 25 years I'd say the better team has won 24 of 25.  It's actually been largely uninteresting as far as upsets go.

Might be closeish for a half, but that's about it

One of my favorite rivalries though Sparta the last few campaigns has fell behind because fall off in coaching thus recruiting. Justice Haynes if he can grind it out and move the chains might be a long day.On the other hand that wr Kelly for MSU is averging 15 ypc and if Chiles can evade M*s pressure he'll find him. It's prolly going to be a 12-15 pt M* win but if Sparta can keep chippy with a hopefully rabid crowd anything is possible - this is their season right here

That literally might be the last upset in this series, give or take 2017

Yeah, I guess this one technically wasn't an upset.

Kinda felt like one though.

This past Saturday was the 10th anniversary of both the Michigan surrender cobra and Minnesota's first win over Nebraska since the primordial ooze era of college football.

It was a good day.

can’t remember an MSU - Michigan game this meh in awhile.

Seems like both fan bases are down on the coach. Spartan fans want the guy gone yesterday and Michigan fans are teetering on the edge with Sharon.

If Sparty wins at home it might put the coach on life support and buy him more time- and it feels like the fans are ready to pull the plug on him yesterday and don’t want him around for another second.

If Michigan wins here- yeah whatever you’re suppose to beat a team this bad with a coach minutes away from being fired. If they lose here- oh boy - just reinforces all the negative thoughts and questions Michigan fan base have about Sharon.

Think we can just call this one the State of Michigan Buyout Bowl Rivalry game.

Lol.  Sparty wasn’t offside.  Kind of nice to see the refs blow a potential game changing call in Michigan’s favor instead of Sparty’s as has happened in the past several times over the last 40 years in this game.
A decade of Victory over Penn State.

All in since 1969
