The early start time has cost UW 2 West Coast visitors to cancel so far.

night games are $$$ for recruiting

I'm in favor of UNL playing all night games, for that reason

if you are Urban or Jimmy or James, and have recruits lining up at the door, it's no big deal

Rooting for Wisconsin - I think one of their keys to victory should be ball security. If they avoid turnovers, I think the Badgers have the edge on Saturday. Michigan looks like they are working up to a big effort, so mistakes/turnovers could decide everything.

I'm not sure why you're making such a big deal out of the 11 AM CST kickoff?  The B1G practically invented that start time.  Tons of B1G games have been played at 11 AM over the past three decades of "big-time-TV" football.  ESPN and ESPN2 have often had two different B1G games at 11 AM.  11 AM is also ABC's official "national" time slot, while 2:30 is considered the regional timeslot, although that has changed somewhat with their capability to reverse mirror onto ESPN channels when they desire.

Regardless, 11 AM is a very common start time for B1G games, so I'm not sure why you'd single that out for this one?

No kidding. But in this case especially, the start time greatly favors the visitors (your t-shirt faves.. grrr...) and it also limits recruiting visits for such a big game.

Last weekend and this weekend are the biggest visitor lists for UW.

I hear ya.  I absolutely loathe 11 AM starts.  But ever since they became the ABC national timeslot 12 or 13 years ago, we've had quite a few of them.
I just know that it's been a quite common start time for B1G games so wasn't certain why this is any different than all the other 11 AM kicks.

11am games are rough, but those TV boys know their numbers - $$$$

9am in Vegas and the left coast - must not have a big effect on numbers

If the NFL wants better QB's out of college...

The NFL can start a minor league. All better for all.

When I was attending games I loved the early starts. I don't drink before games so the tailgate is just long enough and then you get to come back after the game (hopefully a win) and enjoy the rest of the day. You also don't develop a hangover at halftime...

That said, I've seen the big games against (B1G only) helmets at night in Camp Randall. Helmets don't like night games in Camp Randall for a reason. It's hard.

It doesn't.  West Coasters don't watch football, and degenerate gamblers will gamble at any hour.

2:30 is my favorite start time, except for September games in Texas.  For those, 7 PM is the ideal kickoff.

The casinos are indeed an interesting dynamic.
Where else can you see a guy enthusiastically celebrate a BYU win with a gigantic round of Tequila?

Tough to find a time to do that this year.
