Between gametime, Big Jim, helmet schools not doing a home & home, and injuries this thread presents a whole lotta Wisconsin belly aching. The Badgers are definitely a Top 5 football program right now, but you wouldn't know from the fans. And if the anointed one is truly "The King" why cant he take care of some this stuff. He brought together the rousing success that is B1G hockey afterall  :57:

On the subject of the game, I follow Mr. Medina's line of thinking. Michigan's D is very good (not great). But, the floodgates will open if the offense doesn't move the ball a bit. They'll need a short field or two to work with and Nordin will need to capitalize on a long fg or two to win the game. If the offense isnt moving the ball this game could look like the Wisconsin Iowa game from the week prior.

Only my belly. The representations I make do not reflect the opinions or position of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

As for the game, I predict it will be close because I think Horni will throw a couple of picks. That, and there could be some more key players missing from the lineup. We'll know by Thursday how things look on that front.

Do any big time programs schedule home and homes anymore?  Maybe a decade ago there was some of that fear of the no win scenario keeping teams away, but seems like those types of series have all but disappeared.  Arizona State and Miami are the only P5 programs MSU has home and homes with coming up off the top of my head.

Nebraska isn't big time any longer, but they have a home & home scheduled with the Sooners in 21 & 22

just finished one with the Ducks of Oregon that have fallen off big time status

Home and Home's are the best. These neutral site games in stale NFL environments have no interest from me to attend. Would rather go into the lion's den and soak up the college campus and all it has to offer.

I guess the closest thing to "big time" for UW right now is the Virginia Tech series in a few years. Who knows what WSU will be when the time comes. That's the trouble with scheduling so far out. UW is getting burned right now with BYU. They suck, but they were really good when the games were scheduled.

I just looked and UW travels to USF next season. It's a return trip for the 2014 game USF played in Madison. That could be interesting as Strong has them playing pretty well right now.

It's also a recruiting trip...

How did the Arkansas/Michigan series get cancelled? Was that on BB?

UW players/coach On Michigan:

"We had those three losses last year, but that was the one -- we never want to be outplayed," senior tight end Troy Fumagalli said. "They were big and physical. They outplayed us last year and there's no other way to say it.

"Of our losses last year, that was the one where we felt most outmatched," said senior fullback Austin Ramesh.

"It was a bad feeling, we played really bad," said junior left tackle Michael Deiter. "We couldn't run the ball. It was just a big stalemate all day and we couldn't get any movement."

"They kind of kicked our butt that day," said sophomore right tackle David Edwards. "It's something we're mindful of. It was a tough game last year and we're looking to put that behind us."

"Just kind of felt like were scrapping to just stay in the game," junior linebacker T.J. Edwards said of last season's meeting. "We weren't as physical as them.
"We have to come out with an edge. We know we have to match that physicality if we want a chance to win this football game."

"We see them as good or better than they were (last year)," said offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph. “They’re good, man. Those d-lineman, they stand out. They can make plays individually, win 1-on-1’s, explosive guys inside, edge rushers, they can play the run, they can rush the passer. Their backers can fly to the ball, get off blocks. When you see teams consistently win 1-on-1’s, that’s a sign they’re pretty athletic.”

MSU just had one with Oregon too, those are the attainable ones.  As for "helmets."  I mean 2-4 of them are in the conference.  So if you mean Alabama, Texas, USC, yeah, those aren't happening.

He mentioned UW has one coming up with VT.  Those I think are the best any of us can hope for.  You have OSU-Oklahoma and Texas-USC.  But those are helmets against each other.  They largely aren't scheduling them otherwise anymore, period.

and since most of the helmets are in the SEC...........

the SEC big boys aren't going north of the Mason/Dixon to play in a college stadium - regardless
