Then, with Purdue sliding East, the divisions would be divided by Time Zone.
that really won't solve everything

Then, down the line, when they expel Rutgers to make room for Notre Dame...

What makes you think Big Jim is the Commissioner of a Conference, this enterprise is a TV Network.

Some people (myself included) argue that Eastern and Central Time should be merged (at Central Time) and same goes for Mountain and Pacific (at Mountain Time) so that the East and West Coasts are only separated by an hour instead of 3. China somehow manages with just one time zone (despite having the equivalent of five, if I'm not mistaken), so it's not that unreasonable. It would also eliminate the need for Daylight Savings Time.

As for the game, I think this will be a close game, unless Michigan is really down that many injured players. That said, none of the injuries that came against Maryland sound serious. If they all play, then I feel okay. It sounds like Onwenu will be back on the OL, too.... I think turnovers may end up being the deciding factor....

Looks like Walk on Jason Erdmann is going to start at center this week if Biadasz can't go. He's questionable along with starting safety Dixon. Chris Orr has been ruled out already.

Hopefully UW can get all of these kids back come December 2, if not sooner. They need 'em.

Wisconsin was held to 17 points vs Purdue and 24 vs Illinois, I'm pretty sure they are over 30 every other game.

I think UM's defense is definitely good enough to hold them to under 24.

Can UM's offense get to 24? I don't know. maybe. The run game has improved, can Peters, who's still pretty inexperienced make some throws to keep the chains moving?

I'm smelling a low scoring game.
IMHO, the offense/defense questions are highly correlated.  I do think that Michigan's defense should be able to hold Wisconsin's offense to about 24 or less, but that is dependent on Michigan getting a reasonable level of production from their offense.  Michigan's defense is NOT going to hold Wisconsin to 24 points if they have to play 40+ minutes because their offense goes 3-and-out every time they touch the ball.

National Weather Service forecast for Madison on Saturday:

A chance of rain, mixing with snow after 8am, then gradually ending. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 31 by 4pm. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Also saw a rumor over on MGoBlog that Higdon is practicing.

Nope. King Barry would take his team on the road to face any team willing to come to Madison.

maybe it's a recruiting issue as well, I'm guessing coaches like to play more road games in Texas, Florida, California, etc vs Wisconsin which isn't as fertile a recruiting ground

I'm fine with most coaches not knowing about Wisconsin HS players, and the recruiting services underrating them all the time.

That's why the walk on program is so successful. Let's keep it that way.

Between gametime, Big Jim, helmet schools not doing a home & home, and injuries this thread presents a whole lotta Wisconsin belly aching. The Badgers are definitely a Top 5 football program right now, but you wouldn't know from the fans. And if the anointed one is truly "The King" why cant he take care of some this stuff. He brought together the rousing success that is B1G hockey afterall  :57:

On the subject of the game, I follow Mr. Medina's line of thinking. Michigan's D is very good (not great). But, the floodgates will open if the offense doesn't move the ball a bit. They'll need a short field or two to work with and Nordin will need to capitalize on a long fg or two to win the game. If the offense isnt moving the ball this game could look like the Wisconsin Iowa game from the week prior.
